Tagged by Setsuna-Yena now I have to go find this music on youtube...

You can tell a lot about someone by the music they listen to. Hit shuffle on your iPod/ Phone/ iTunes/ media player and write down the first 10 because I can songs that play, then pass this on to 5 people

1.
"Beast and the Harlot" by Avenged Sevenfold.

2.
"Creek Mary's Blood" by Nightwish.

3. "Warriors" by Imagine Dragons.

 4. "The Phoenix" by Fall Out Boys.

5. "Counting Stars" by One Republic.

6. "Dark Horse" by Katy Perry.

7. "Disturbia" by Rihanna.

8. "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga.

9. "The Ballad of Mona Lisa" by Panic! At The Disco.

10. "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" by The Offspring.

My work here is done. This is actually a pretty good cross section of the sort of music I listen to.

I have arrived. Some of my furniture is rather late, but I have my apartment and class has started. I am included in the inaugural class of the Denis-Sams Gaming academy ( moody.utexas.edu/gaming-academ…

My schedule should be settling down and I should be able to play games/post art again more regularly after this three day weekend. I will also be keeping up a few blogs for my experiences here in Texas. I should have them ready in the next day or two. I think that is about all the news that I have.

In Search of Collaboration

I have recently been in a mood to make something with someone. There is something particularly satisfying about working closely with another artist to make something grand in concept, although it doesn't necessarily have to be something grand in scale. If anyone else is feeling this urge, drop me a line.

I've done swapping off in stages ( i.e. someone does sketch/lines other person colors set up) but I'm also up for those time trial sort of deals as well (i.e. you get two hours to work on the honor's system and then you have to pass it off to the other person wherever it ended up when your time finished).

My deviantART Story

I suspect that my dA story is not unusual. 10 years ago or so I was looking for a community that I could both share my work and see the works of others. I had been playing online video games for some time and a friend recommend dA. I was thrilled to look around even if at first I wasn't quite ready to post anything I made. It was always the more unusual things that I came across that left me with a profound sense of awe and the notion that such a large group of people were far more creative than I could ever hope to be personally.
Below are a few of my personal favorites in my collection of unusual and interesting things things.

Cheeto Cheetahs by AnnPars  down to the clouds and collect sky from a well by Tiesei

never ever hungry by HumanDescent The Power of Words by atmosblue Like this.....? by thrumyeye that awkward moment 1 by zer0anonymous Ice Princess is with Stupid by Hail-NekoYasha

After a little time and some encouragement, I developed some perspective. The whole of a community is creative because of its individuals. It has been a long ride, but I try to keep all the pieces of my gallery in chronological order so I can look back over the experience though the images. I suppose my experience here is best summarized by a rather famous quote from Isaac Newton that reads, "If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants."

I have returned from a long weekend of convention fun. The extended birthday trip was wonderful. The small conventions really have a different sort of charm, although it did seem much bigger than last year. I attended several panels, premiers, and dances. All of which were enjoyable and I am hoping to be back again next year.

Recent Me

I've been leading a game development (programmers, designers, artists, an audio tech, and a composure) team trouble making a 2D platformer puzzle game under the title "Red Sun" (the dev blog: redsungamedev.blogspot.ca/ ) and that has been consuming much of my time. I am hoping to have something presentable by the end of summer and we'll have to see where the project goes from there.

I've also seen several movies recently that I really enjoyed. The aliens from "Edge of Tomorrow" were awesome. Transformers: Age of Extinction was three hours of explosions, over sized battles, and metal dinos (if you want something else out of the movie, you are in the wrong place).

I started going back trough the CrashCourse series over on YouTube. A lot of the information isn't new but I feel like having the refresher now and then keeps my university degree in working order. I still love thumbing through my biology textbook.

New recent games I've been playing include Wildstar and Game of the Year Edition of Plants vs. Zombies. All fun stuff and I hope all of you are having as much fun.

Level Up Showcase

On Friday I spent the evening at the Level Up Showcase (levelupshowcase.com/) in Toronto. Playing all the new, raw video games is a great experience although after working with on pre-production for my own game project, I've found that it has almost become nauseating to see monodevelop open and people hurriedly trying to fix things when the game should be running. I have high hopes for being able to actually participate next year.

Also this weekend I went to see NETwork's presents Disney's Beauty and Beast at the Mississauga Living Art Centre. It is an amazing little theatre and the show had a certain charm to it that the movie never quiet left me with. I had never seen a real person actual able to replicate the cartoon "boneless collisions" and falling head over heels without being hurt before. I would recommend the show to anyone that hasn't seen it.

End of the Semester Coming

April 18th is the last day of class his semester. Final projects are coming in which is nice and horrifying at the same time. There just never seems to be enough time to make a lot of these projects the grand finale they should be. I'm really looking forward to the twos weeks off before my game production cycle starts. A little bit of quiet time to play all the games I've been putting off for responsible activities.

A few pieces of outstanding commissions and contest pieces are also wrapping up. Luckily time has been properly budgeted for those such that there hasn't been a conflict with school work yet.

Starting a new project. Some of you may have seen the Bopeep girl running around and I have good news. We are going ahead with the pre-production of the game. I will be maintaining the game dev journal (weekly updates on the current schedule) here:

This will hopefully be an accurate account of the making of the game from the concept/pitch through to the functioning proof of concept at the end of August of this year. Wish me luck!

P.S. Those of you with outstanding commissions I will be finish those in the next few days and there is a strong possibility I will restricting (or closing down depending on how the work flow goes) my commission slots so I can focus on the game.

First Day of Blizzcon

Journal Entry: Fri Nov 8, 2013, 5:59 PM
*Tumblr* - *Twitter*

Current Updates: So as most of you probably know I'm attending a post-grad program at Sheridan College in Ontario Canada. I'm balancing my personal art, commission work and class work and so far I think its been going along pretty well. Time management is certainly important and getting a little work in here and there when I can on my various projects has been critical.

This weekend: I'm out of the country at a Blizzcon party. It didn't make sense to try to get tickets to Blizzcon in person when I really can't afford the money or time for travel back to California so I'm at a satellite party (virtual viewing) of Blizzcon with several members of my significant other's Warcraft Guild (Static from Arthas US).

There has been ton of information from Blizzcon and I'm really excited for Blizzard games for the next year. A lot of my complaints and concerns about WoW have been addressed and even though I have less time to play, I'm looking forward to the little time I get on.

Heros of the Storm also looks like something worth dabbling with. I do really enjoy League of Legends but a variety of maps, short games, and a different sort of environment might be nice for a change.

I'll be back home Sunday evening so if you don't hear from me till then, I'll be my general nerdy self enjoying Blizcon, chips, and soda.
