My design of Grundel originally for Real Ghostbusters TV animation in 1987. He was the only character I designed for RGB.

I reused it for XGB in 1997 because I thought it was cool to have the exact same drawing on the model sheet that I had done 10 years earlier. I also wanted to test how the animators had improved over the years, if at all.

I've recolored it here for your enjoyment, and to get that nose colored correctly!

Sir, you literally changed my childhood and my whole life. When I was 5 years old I used to watch both Real and Extreme Ghostbusters. In my city local TV channel used to show these shows around 8PM, two episodes of RGB then two episodes XGB, and Grundel episodes impressed me the most. I couldn't sleep and was afraid to look at the windows despite living at the fifth floor. Still I always came back to TV around 8PM to watch more because these cartoons are great. I probably wouldn't love horror genre that much if it wasn't for you and everyone else who worked on such cool projects. Now I can rewatch Ghostbusters shows ang get all references, from Hellraiser to the Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Thank you.

Sorry for the nightmares :(
I'm currently coloring his full body to post on my Patreon www.patreon.com/filbarlow
for my $1 a month supporters to see. Plus I'll be posting all of his expressions as a PDF for my $5+ patrons in a week or so.

If you are talking about the Pied Piper from Extreme Ghostbusters, I've colored and posted him on my Patreon. I've also posted all of the roughs of him in a PDF for my $5+ supporters.

Just letting you know that I have been working on the very designs you would like to see. Don't feel any pressure, it's like entering a gallery, if you ever have a dollar spare you can have a look. Cheers! :)

I was just watching the EGB Grundel episode on youtube the other night.  Im suprised they got away with some of the creepier elements on EGB like this line.

"Of course I know her name...I used to watch her sleep"

Great creepy design.

Yes different times I guess.

And to think there are some fans who think EGB was watered down.

Ha ha! Another one of my fav' demons from XGB! Looks like you were behind all of the demons I loved. ^^
I've stumbled a few months ago on the RGB episode! I was so happy to see that the old team really did catch him! Such a cool idea to join RGB and XGB! Episodes like this are so great.
And when I was young, it was soooo scary! I still remember him... "Come out and plaaaaay..."

Yeah he was an interesting challenge, I originally designed him for Richard Raynis without reading the script. I never saw how he turned out in RGB until You Tube came along.

And now that you know the story behind the character (I guess), how different could his design be?
