Traveller's Lighthouse

This piece is actually inspired by the song ‘Just a Kiss’ of Lady Antebellum [and I played it on repeat mode]… the video shows a girl and guy who fell in love after they met each other in a bus, and Lady Antebellum singing the song in a train station.

Anyway, the inspiration turned into this creation. I want to show this as a symbolism of how we are trapped in just one place, never to get out of it, to venture the world, seek life beyond our threshold. Who knows what lies behind the hills? Perhaps, you will find new light, love, and bliss in places you’ve never dreamed of.

Two of the maps – the old Japanese map, and the very old world map – are actually taken from Wikipedia, and they are part of the creative commons, so that means I can use them in any way I want… I think~
