In-Between Fighting Tournament Story Chapter 45
In-between BONUS Chapter: Observations
Baqir grinned at the monitor. While he had never much cared for the cybernetic mercenary, he had to admit, Kerasi’s methods were both effective and humorous.
The desert assassin had decided to check in on his two scapegoats via the hidden cameras he had installed in Team Alpha’s hideout. He had always planned on installing the cameras to better keep an eye on Lita (and the ever questionable Team Alpha). He couldn’t risk sending more shadows, he was pushing things as it was; what with the class 3 demon he had attached to his dearest’s shadow. Any more, even those weaker than the class 3, and Lita was bound to notice their presence.
Baqir leaned back further into the couch, his feet propped on the table next to the laptop currently displaying the rather amusing impromptu surgeon and her less than willing

In-between BONUS Chapter: Breaking Point
The Thief Lord looked up from the crystal he had been carving. It wasn’t the fact that Lita was early for dinner or that she had burst into his room without warning that had caught his attention. It wasn’t even that she had yelled his name. All of those facts paled in comparison to the one very important detail of Lita’s arrival:
She had rolled the ‘r’ on his name.
And had held it for a good second.
She had never rolled her ‘r’s back on Desshar; she hadn’t known how. That particular skill was one she had picked up from her Hispanic mother back on Earth. When she had first done it to him on Fist-Punch, he had found it very amusing (and tad bit arousing, to be honest). Now that he

In-between BONUS Chapter: Morning After
Baqir returned from his visit to the mercenary more calm than he had been after leaving Lita earlier that evening.
He still couldn’t believe that she had been so foolish as to participate in a scheme that put her in the line of fire of the infamous Void Witch. Especially after he had made her promise not to! The girl was going to be the death of him.
Though it wouldn’t be the first time, he thought ruefully. And he had already decided years ago that she was worth it. So no matter what the cost, he would do everything in his power to insure her safety. Even if it meant doing things he couldn’t...mention to her. Like going off on his own and commissioning Kerasi to make melee weapons for Katsvete.
Seconds after entering his shadow portal, Baqir had begun to analyzing the

“We’re good to go! HIT IT!”
Taking a deep breath, Lita let herself relax into her Goddess mode, allowing the power of the Sun to flow through every part of her being. Were it not for Baqir’s grip on her hand anchoring her, she might have lost herself completely. Surrendering to the Goddess was never something she did lightly; every time she did, she could feel a piece of her humanity merge with Amut-Ra. If she kept this up, one day there would be nothing of Lita left; instead, there would be a full hybrid of what had once been Amut-Ra and Ashehr.
In the background, she thought she could hear Matt and Gogglehats yelling out readings and percentages to her, but she couldn’t really make out what they were saying. The only thing she was aware of were the scars on Baqir’s fingers, the tension in his arm, an
