The colour in this photo is incomparable. Absolutely gorgeous.
I saw a heron at the local park (many tend to avoid the busy area) and as I was leaving, I mentioned the sighting to some women leading their children in that direction. I said to them, "There's a heron fishing by the bridge. You can probably still see it." One woman turned to me looking utterly perplexed and asked, "A what?" Thinking she hadn't heard, I repeated, "A heron." Again, "A what?" By this point, I was just baffled, but nonetheless I responded, "A heron." One more, "A what?" and I just walked away, totally flummoxed. How do you grow up in Ontario and not know what a heron is?
