Yeah! A great tutorial (IMHO!) for the brand new year and to go along with my recently received 10,000 pageviews! Thanks so much everyone for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit my page! Happy New Year!

In this tutorial, I will show you how to create an animated kaleidoscope using GIMP and the GIMP Animation Package (GAP).

The tutorial is in html format. So, just download the zip file to a convenient location, like your desktop. Double-click the zip file and move the html file and the "files" folder to your desktop (the files folder and html file must be in the same location for the images to show up.) Double-click the html file and the tutorial will open.

Although nothing is required for you to download and use this tutorial, giving me a fave would be a simple way to show your thanks. Just click the :+fav: Add to Favorites link on the left side of the page, near the top. You don't even have to give me comments. Come on, people, show a little bit of love for someone who takes the time and effort to do the hard work of preparing these tutorials for your enjoyment and learning.

Enjoy!

I can't seem to get the layer masks to stay where they are. I've tried checking the 'Clip to frame in both the layer masks and the images, and I only click 'add point' in the images but when I do 'Frames modify', the layer masks still move with the images.

What am I doing wrong?

This is a terrific tutorial! To me, GAP is not real user friendly. I've tried to figure it out on my own and got nowhere fast. I still have to be careful and follow the instructions closely, because I get lost in some of GAPs functions. I really have no clue what I'm doing. Your tutorial is helping me understand it better. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to write this very clear tutorial. I really appreciate you sharing it with us. :iconpounceglomp:

I downloaded the tutorial using FF 3.0 and non of the pictures show up, all broken.

I can go to the file and view them all so they are here.

This box is running Ubutuntu 8.04.1. I don't think that should matter.

I just thought you might like to know.

Looks really neat. I intend to play with it soon. I did not have Gap and I think I will play with it a little before I take on this little project.
Thanks,
