Image in Text for GIMP

This tutorial was created quite awhile ago and hosted on Since the writing of the original tutorial, GIMP has been updated a little bit in the way it handles text layers. Therefore, I too have updated this tutorial to include the changes in GIMP.

Here I'll show you how to create text out of an image using 3 different techniques. You'll probably find one way that works best for you and use it from here on out. I thought I would show the different techniques just so you would learn a few new tricks if you didn't already know them.

The tutorial is in htm format. Just click the Download to Desktop button, double-click the zip file, extract the file folder and htm file to a convenient location, and open the htm file at your leisure.

As always, if you have any questions or my steps are unclear, please let me know and I'll get back with you as soon as I can.
