In my original universe, Boreal Force is a paramilitary strike team created as a joint operation between all of Canada's branches of military and intelligence. Each member is enhanced through a combination of science and magic, then given their own unique vehicle. Think: Beast King GoLion, Gundam or Super Sentai.
For the uniform, I was really inspired by Post-Apocalyptic anime and tokusatsu superheroes. I went with a white and red bodysuit, which is accessorized with a variety of straps and pouches. Canis carries with him the mask of the Grey Wolf, which provides him with much of his power and enables him to control his vehicle.
I knew that Boreal Force was going to be a very Canadian team in that I wanted each of the characters to possess the abilities of iconic Canadian animals. To help me with the selection, I asked my watchers to pick their favourites. As such, I want to give a shout out to those of you who voted and contributed to the selection. Specifically, I'd like to thank GDupons, Godzilla713, bjv016, Jose-Ramiro, kingziggy, Steelpoodle, Gold-Reaper, m4gichat, SargimusPrime, Jovan2013, DanFalcon, K-Jounin, Biruka, Thoth23 and ParisNJones. Your combined votes placed the Grey Wolf as your favourite and this became the impetus for the creation of Canis and his status as the team leader of Boreal Force.

As always, I love hearing from you all so please feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments section. If you all would like to see more of these profiles, please let me know.
Apologies that it took me this long to come forth and comment on this page - been a busy couple of weeks. But, hey, better late than never.
In terms of Lucas/Canis’s bio, he comes off to me as your standard leading man who has some baggage on him. While the tragedies are evident – losing his sister, father’s downfall into substance abuse and his mother’s degradation – what I’m getting is that he’s strived to overcome such; maybe later finding his sister alive somewhere as apart of a character arc. But, then again, I could very well be talking out of my ass and missing the point entirely.
In regards to the character’s design, I think he reminds me most of Akira from GoLion and Keith from Voltron (Legendary Defender specifically). This is a given, seeing how you freely admitted to having GoLion and Voltron (along with similar giant robot works) serve as the inspirations for your concept. Though him having powers, in addition, does show the Tokusatsu influence as well. Him having a small wolf mask on his belt makes for a decent design accessory beyond just the color.
At conclusion, I’d say his character is a fine field leader whose archetype suits him well enough. Whatever developments and arcs Lucas Lapointe (gotta love alliteration), aka Canis, undergoes is fairly up to you but I’m sure you’ve got something in mind for him.
I shall go and look over Ursus tomorrow; see you then.
It would certainly be interesting to see what direction his narrative could be taken in. Of course, since Boreal Force is a concept that borrows heavily from First Nations folklore, I'm not really the right pilot to drive that vehicle. To continue on with it, I'd certainly need to be collaborating with First Nations writers and artists.
Lucas is a fantastic start. Being a wolf is a great analogy to draw from if he is the team's leader. After all, that would make him the pack's alpha. The colour scheme you've used is really creative and it works well with the design of the outfit. I especially love the little wolf totem on his belt.
Fantastic start here!
Thanks! I'm glad you like his appearance. The colour scheme and designs will be similar across the board for the entire team. You know me, I love me some matching costumes.
So, aside from the superficials of his appearance, what do you think of his character (personality, backstory, etc.)?
honestly, I think that his backstory is the strongest aspect of the character. It's a heartbreaking story, but it gives him a very strong motivation and that definitely lends itself well to his position in the team. It also makes me excited to see what the other members of the team will be like.
That's good to hear. As I said to you while discussing my Olympian Squadron, I was aiming to create stronger backstories for these characters. I know I'm only one hero in, but am I accomplishing that thus far?
