Yay! More than a year and a half without an update!
Had my pizza place job sold out from under me, moved twice, work for a Bank now, and just got a kitten.
The Rapunzel dress turned out awesome, as predicted. No pictures, though, and I never even got to see Sister in it. This year was different. Chemise, bloomers, skirt, bustle, corset. We called her 55-G, or Steam Stilt Girl. It was glorious. I drafted all the patterns for it myself.
The owner of the pizza shop sold the store. I didn't find out until everything had been moved out that I didn't have a job. Three months later my husband got a call back from a bank and they wanted him as IT. We'd been playing the interview game with them before I lost my job, but it didn't work out until January. He accepted, we moved in with my parents, and he started bringing home the dough.
In May I got a job with Bank of Oklahoma as a teller. I LOVE IT! It doesn't stress me out, now that all the people I hate are gone it's actually fun, and there are so many opportunities to move up! It is glorious. Then I lost my remote IT job. No big loss, as it went to the guy's daughter. But even without it we have money left over at the end of the month. In June we moved out of my parents' house to a townhouse closer to our jobs. Lots of space. We love it here.
I'm not gonna go into the part where we considered moving to Colorado to run a hotel. The numbers didn't work out, it was very stressful, the end.
Jayne. Where to start about Jayne. We rescued him from my grandma and cousin on Thanksgiving (like I said, JUST got a kitten). He is indeed named after Jayne Cobb, the hero of Canton (Firefly). Orange and white tabby cat, and just about the most adorable thing in the whole wide world. He hates the vacuum cleaner, loves catnip mice and my hair, and acts like my husband when I'm trying to read... In other words, tries to distract me.
Oh, and I learned how to knit. It's very fun.
Now, time to get ready for work! I really am going to try to upload some of my projects from the last few years, I promise.
Games! I almost forgot about games. SW:TOR died out. WoW came back and died again. Skyrim was awesome! And now I play Minecraft with my dad.
