Getting Involved on DA, Vol. 1: Features
Community Week Many of us want to be involved in our DeviantArt community beyond the act of submitting artwork to our galleries. We may want to get more deeply involved because we just love art, because we want to make friends on the website, or even to just generate more traffic to our profiles. Many people have asked me, HOW do I get more involved? My first answer is always: JOURNAL FEATURES! Why? Because, what better way to say "your work is awesome" than to plaster their deviation in your journal for everyone to see. Even after over ten years on DA, I still get a little thrill at seeing my art in someone else's journal. Taking the time t
Selling Prints: Observations and Advice
Art in the Professions Week Introduction A lot of people think this is how print sales happen: 1. Join DeviantArt 2. Upload your first piece to DA with prints enabled 3. Log out 4. Come back an hour later 5. ???? 6. PROFIT But, sadly, it's not that easy - like most social media platforms, DA is a site where you tend to get back a return (in this case, CASH MONEY!) proportionate to effort you put into getting your content seen. In this article I'll be focusing on marketing your prints, which is easier than you'd expect but requires you to think about four major questions: What are you going to sell? Who are you selling it to? Where will you
Submission and pricing guidelines
As a group dedicated to creating a fair standard for those who create artwork to sell their art, it is very important that we guide people towards that standard. This will help you as well as us, and make sure that everyone is standing on the merits of their work, and not the 'prettiness' of their commission page. If we see an issue with your commission sheet when you submit, we will, of course, give you some tips where we can, but it will never be the reason we decline your sheet. So what do we look for? Examples A large part of a template is dedicated to pictures. These examples are perhaps the most important thing on these sheets. They

Hello, fellow deviant.

'DA Starters' is an unofficial project (not administrated by DA staff) run on and by All-about-features.
The projects objective is to promote new deviants who have joined less than one (1) year ago.
We do that with an small interview and art feature. New interviews are usual uploaded every Saturday.

How does this work?

A team member will contact you via note and send you questions to answer directly.
When you send your replies back, please remember to add the pieces from your gallery you would like to see featured.
You can choose up to seven (7) deviations.

Feedback of any sort is always appreciated!

:star: FAQ :star:

I've had an account before but my new/current one is less than 1 year old. Can I get interviewed for this?

Arrow Bullet (Green) - F2U! by Drache-Lehre No, sorry. To try and keep everyones chances fair, we can only count your very first account.

Do I have to join this group to take part?

Arrow Bullet (Green) - F2U! by Drache-Lehre No, you don't have to. It would be greatly appreciated if you were to become active in this part of DA though.

I've been on hiatus for some time....

Arrow Bullet (Green) - F2U! by Drache-Lehre Unfortunately, we can not factor this time in.

I would like to get interviewed but my English is very bad/I am not very confident in my language skills.

Arrow Bullet (Green) - F2U! by Drache-Lehre We strongly encourage you to try and do it. :) If your mother language is German, Spanish or French, please send Felizias a short note and you will receive questions in your language. Your replies will be translated for the readers later. (Your interview might take longer then.)

The project sounds interesting. Can I suggest someone or help out with the interviews?

Arrow Bullet (Green) - F2U! by Drache-Lehre If you would like to suggest someone, please show them this information journal and ask them to contact us.

Hmm...

I have a rather deeply rooted shyness over promoting myself that I hope Deviantart might in time help me cure. So I will take a baby step and say it would be very appreciated if you would browse my thumbnails and skim through a journal, seeing if there is something in there others might benefit from seeing or hearing.

Thank you.

Thank you for replying, and I understand that and was not asking for feedback. I just thought I would rather be safe than sorry and first ask if I have something to introduce before I start sending notes.

The link to our online form (I guess that's what you mean) is in this journal. :)
I never thought of adding the direct link to the sidebar of this journal but that's a good idea; thank you. :D
