Power Rangers Phoenix Force
Episode 1 Invasion Part 1
Five thousand years ago, a small kingdom named Mikana lived in a land of peace and great prosperity because they have a great source of Mikanian Metal, the greatest metal in all the planet and possibly the galaxy. While many kingdoms have tried to take over the kingdom, but they did not know the land was protected by two ancient guardians known as the Phoenix and the Hydra. The Phoenix was in charge of protecting and upholding the laws, leading the police forces and also blessed the crops of the land.
Meanwhile, Hydra led the military forces, using his powers to make an army of creatures known as spectra's. One day, a wizard managed to sneak into the kingdom and used his powers to corrupt Hydra, making him hateful and vengeful against the Phoenix, who is more popular with the citizens than Hydra. Hydra raises his army, and starts his march to destroy the Phoenix and the people of the land. The Phoenix, sensing the danger to the people, uses his magic to create the first team of the Phoenix Rangers. The new Ranger team managed to rally the people together, and the citizens and the army of Spectra's fought in the plains of the lost while the Phoenix and Hydra fought at the mountain of serenity.
The rangers were able to hold off the spectra's with the assistance of the villagers, but the Phoenix and the Hydra found that they were too equal in power. The Hydra and the Phoenix both used the last of their powers to seal the other away in another dimension, Hydra in the dimension of light in hopes of purifying him and the Phoenix in the dimension of darkness in hopes of corrupting him. The Phoenix Rangers, seeing that the land's guardians were gone, used their powers to make the kingdom disappear into another dimension to keep it safe from its enemies.
Once the rangers were done training a small portion of the citizens to be a army and teaching them how to raise an army to defend their lands, the Rangers went back to the dimensions from whence they came, to walk the planet to make sure that no spectra’s escaped the kingdom and to keep it safe from them. Before they left, they told the citizens of Mikana that, if the seal that holds Hydra and his army were ever broken, the land will shake to symbolize them coming to destroy the Earth.
Now, during present day in the kingdom, the citizens of the kingdom now have training facilities to train the next generation to become the next Phoenix Rangers should the Phoenix ever return pure and their kingdom in need of a new team of heroes.

Nathan grunts as he blocks kick coming in from the side to try and get him when his guard was down, the kick still managing to cause Nathan to take a step back. Nathan grabs the foot with one arm, and then uses all of his might to flip his opponent using the foot. His opponent does a complete flip before landing on his feet again, and then lunges back at Nathan. Nathan gasps as he manages to block two punches, but was caught off guard when his opponent head butts him, causing him to fall to the ground.
Before Nathan can get back up, he feels a knee land on his chest, hard, and is pushing down as another hand is posed to kill above the enemies head. When he brings it down, it is brought down at a speed that Nathan can’t block.
“Stop!” The hand stops inches from Nathan’s neck, Nathan gulping as he looks at how close the hand is to his neck. An old woman steps out of the shadows, and Nathan’s opponent stands up, Nathan relieved that the opponent’s knee isn’t digging into his chest now. Nathan stands up as well, rubbing his sore chest as he does so. Both Nathan and his opponent stand at attention to the elderly woman, who is dressed in a red and gold robe, her hands behind her back. “I definitely see that the two of you have improved, Nathan and Leon, but Nathan, you still need to practice your fighting skills. You should be at Leon’s level by now, but you’re still a tier underneath him.”
Nathan nods his head as he looks down at the ground. “Yes, ma’am.” Nathan replies.
She looks at Leon, and says, “But you,” She takes two steps towards Leon, who has bright blond hair, green eyes, and is considered to be the most handsome cadet in the whole boot camp, maybe even in all of Mikana. “You were about to deliver a killing blow during a training exercise, and against your own younger brother!”
“But Headmaster Shaw….”
“No excuses! I don’t care if you were going to go through with it or not! That sort of cockiness can have serious cockiness if your brother got scared and did something you did not expect, which was most certainly possible!” Leon looks down at the ground, not wanting to try to argue with the headmaster. “I order the two of you to the special training area once classes are over! If I recall, your sister, Nicole, should be there as well. Dismissed!”
“Yes, Ma’am!” Nathan and Leon say as they salute Headmaster Shaw, and stay like that until Headmaster Shaw leaves. Nathan sighs as he runs his hand through his black hair, his blue eyes looking over at his brother.
“What was that back there?” Nathan says with disbelief in his voice. “Were you really using the Phoenix Claw Strike on me back there?” Leon looks at Nathan as he holds his hand up in a fist, his pointer finger pointing up.
“Yes, but I was going to stop anyways.” Leon says, and then starts to walk away, Nathan right behind him.
“Stop? When? When your hand was in my throat? You know that the Council banned those moves except when you’re in danger of losing your life or someone else’s, and your life wasn’t in danger!” Nathan replies as they leave the training area into a busy hallway of many students that are training to join the Mikana army, or hopefully become the next team of Phoenix Rangers. “You’re lucky you’re not sent to prison for something like this.”
“What do you want, Nathan? Look, I’m sorry for that, I shouldn’t have done it, but what’s done is done.” Leon stops as realization hits him. “Oh man, the special training area. Mom and Dad will not be happy with us about this.” Nathan sighs as he crosses his arms. He can’t believe this! Because he isn’t on the same tier level as Leon, Nathan has to go to special training.
“I can’t believe this, either! I mean, because of you I have to do Special training? This just sucks!”
“So I won’t be alone this time, huh?” Nathan and Leon turn around to see their sister, Nicole, the middle child of the three siblings, standing behind them in the female academy outfit, which consists of a black button up shirt with a black skirt that goes down to her shins. She has long, blond hair with beautiful, clear blue eyes. “What did you two do?”
“I wasn’t as strong as Leon over here, and he tried to kill me using a forbidden move.” Nathan says.
“For the last time, I was going to stop before I hurt you, and I already apologized for it.” Leon looks at Nicole, a confused look on his face. “How did you know, anyways? It just happened a minute ago.” Nicole smiles as she crosses her arms.
“I passed by the headmaster on her way out, and she told me I was going to be accompanied today by my brothers, which is quite nice. I’m usually all alone during the special training, so it’s nice to know I’ll have family with me this time.” Nathan sighs as he, Leon, and Nicole all walk towards their next class together, the three unaware of two students watching them from afar.

Leon enters the special training area to see that his younger brother, Nathan, and his younger sister, Nicole, waiting in the middle of the forest. Leon sighs, and then takes two steps forward before he stops when a familiar female voice speaks behind him. “Well, I was afraid I’d see you three here one day, I just didn’t think it would be at the same time.” Leon turns around, and gulps when he see’s his mother, Samantha Tran.
“M-Mom? What are you doing here?” Leon asks as Nathan and Nicole run up to Leon’s side.
“I want to see what my father will do to his grandkids. He’s usually not one to go easy, even on family members, but I want to see if he needs my help.” She smiles at her kids. “After all, I don’t want my kids to think I don’t think about them.” She walks up to the three, and sighs. “You three better hope that your father doesn’t come here, or he’ll be very angry with you all.”
Nicole raises her eyebrows as she looks at her mom. “He probably realizes that I’m here today, like I usually am.” Nicole puts her hands on her hips as her mother looks at her disapprovingly.
“Nicole, you really should stop doing this. You keep breaking the rules, disobeying the teachers, and you’ve even mocked the headmaster right in front of her face. I don’t know what you’ve done this time, but I want you to start shaping up and acting like a mature women, not a young girl that thinks the world is against her.” Nicole sighs as she looks up at the sky, ignoring her mother completely. Samantha looks at Nicole for a few seconds with an unsatisfied look of her daughter’s behavior before looking back at Nathan. “Nathan, I need to talk with you for a few seconds, alone.” Samantha walks up to Nathan, and puts her hand on his shoulder, guiding him away from his brother and sister.
“Mom, I didn’t do anything bad, it was Leon. I’m here just because I…”
“I know the situation, Nathan, but I just want to talk with you for a few seconds.” Samantha smiles at Nathan reassuringly before she starts up. “I can’t believe that it’s been eighteen years since I found you on our doorstep, Nathan. You were like a blessing from the Phoenix, Nathan, and I don’t like doing this, but you know what happens when you fail a training test as badly as you did.” She stops walking, turns Nathan towards her, and she puts both of her hands on Nathan’s shoulders. “Nathan, I know that you’re not one to get into trouble, but when you fail a test as badly as you did, you need some special training to get into the next area. I hope you do understand that.”
“Yes, mom.” Nathan says sighs heavily. He still can’t believe he got into trouble because of his brother, and it was because of something that Leon did, not Nathan.
“Nathan,” Samantha says as she puts her forehead on Nathan’s. “Something tells me that the Phoenix has great plans for you one day, I just know it. Now, get back with your brother and sister. I’m certain that your grandfather has something in store for you.” Samantha kisses Nathan’s forehead before she lets go of Nathan. Nathan smiles up at his mom before he starts walking towards his older half-siblings, Nathan smiling to himself.

Samantha left the special training area about five minutes ago, leaving her three children alone to wait for their grandfather to arrive. Nathan and Leon have never had to do Special training before, and they have never heard of what they will actually be doing in here. Nicole knows perfectly well, but she is staying quite about it, saying that her brother’s will soon discover exactly what their grandfather will do to them.
“Does he usually take this long?” Leon asks as he is walking around in a circle around Nicole and Nathan. They were told to come here immediately after school, yet their grandfather, who is supposed to be leading them, is nowhere in sight.
“Sometimes, he does this at random so I never know when he’s supposed to get here.” Nicole says, and then blows a strand of hair out of her face. “Sometimes he’s here within a few minutes, and a few times he arrives an hour late. He only does this for me since I’ve come here so often.”
“Which you shouldn’t be.” The three siblings turn around to see a man in his sixties walk from the darkness of the trees. He has several wrinkles on his forehead, dull green eyes, and has a build that many young men would kill for. “You three should be ashamed to be here, especially at once, but it seems your grandpa has to teach you three a good lesson.” Nathan nods his head towards his grandpa, whose actual name is Henry, but everyone just calls him ‘The Black Wolf’ because of something he did when he was younger.
He doesn’t like talking about it, so Nathan, Leo, and Nicole have no idea why he is called that. “It wasn’t my fault.” Nathan says as he crosses his arms. “It was all leo’s…”
“Do you think I honestly care whose fault it is!?” Their grandpa yells, causing them to naturally stand at attention. “All I want from you three are fifty push-ups, each! Now get down and do each pushup on my command!” The three siblings all get down into the ready for pushups. “Down!” The three kids all move down on their grandfather’s command. “Up!” The kids all move up on his command.
Henry continues to order them pushups, Nathan keeping count of the pushups and discovering they actually went to seventy Pushups instead of fifty. “Now, stand up!” The three stand up at attention, looking at their grandfather. “Now we will hike twenty miles to the bottom of that small mountain, then we are going to hike up the mountain, then back down, and then we will hike the twenty miles back! Do you understand me?”
“Sir, yes sir!” The three siblings yell in unison, and then the three get in line, and follow their grandpa through the twenty mile hike.

Samantha and her husband, William, are in the kitchen, Samantha trying to lighten William’s mood with a few stories that use to always make William laugh, but now he doesn’t have a grin on his face. Samantha sighs, and then sets a plate down in the sink, turning to her husband. “William, say something. I know that we never expected all three of our children to go to the special training at once, but now we need to at least talk about what we should do with them.”
William looks up at Samantha, his blue eyes looking into Samantha’s green eyes. “I know, but something tells me that the special training is all the two boys need to learn their lesson, and as for Nicole, we have already talked with her about this. If she has not already learned, then she will not learn anything from us.”
Samantha sighs as she places her hands on her hips, looking at her husband disapprovingly. “You should at least say some…” Samantha is interrupted as she feels the ground shake beneath her feet, causing her to hold onto the side of the counter as William stands up from the chair, using the table for support.
“An earthquake?” William says as he goes over to his wife’s side. “The only time there should be a earthquake on Mikana is when…” Realization dawns upon both William and Samantha as they look at each other with fear.  “When Hydra’s army returns.”
Samantha and William quickly run into their bedroom, where there lays a chest next to their bed. William runs up to it, pulls a key out of his pocket, and then inserts it into the keyhole. He twists the key to the right, and hears the satisfying click of the chest unlocking. William grabs the top of the chest, and opens it, revealing a Zweihänder and a crossbow with a quill of about fifty arrows.
Samantha grabs the crossbow with quill as William grabs the Zweihänder, and pulls it out of its sheath. Once he attaches the sheath to his belt, he looks at his wife as she slings the quill over her head and on her shoulder.
“Samantha, you go and get the kids, they should be safe in the special training area. Once you find them, find the best place to set up a base of operations, and I’ll rally what forces I can to come and meet you.” Samantha nods her head, and the two head for the front door. William grabs the handle, and opens the door, stepping out with his Zweihänder ready in his other hand and Samantha behind him, her crossbow up and ready to shoot.
William sidesteps so Samantha can get out and get a clear view of their surroundings. William closes the door, and then wields his Zweihänder with two hands and turn around. He see’s that everyone is getting out of their homes with weapons of their own, some wielding swords, some with bow and arrows, others with maces, axes, daggers, spears, and javelins.
William raises his Zweihänder high up in the air, and yells, “Everyone, follow me! We must rally everyone to defend our kingdom!” William yells, and then starts to run down the road, everyone following him except for Samantha.
Samantha readies her crossbow, and then starts her run to the special training area, her mind set on saving her three children.

Headmaster Shaw pulls out her twin swords, and swings them a few times to get used to their weight again. “Headmaster!” three students come charging in, armed with only practice swords, which won’t do them any good against the army of Cerberus. “The academies in disarray, everyone’s running in a panic! What should we do?”
The headmaster puts her twin swords in their sheaths, and then walks up to the three students. “I want you three to gather the students, and then bring them into Omega training area seven, that has the best area to defend against enemy attacks. Form a defensive area around Omega training area seven, and make sure that anything that looks like a slimy serpent doesn’t get in.” Shaw pulls a key out, and tosses it to the tallest of the three students. “Unlock the armory, and hand out the weapons to the best fighter’s according to their weapon training.”
The three students salute Shaw as the tallest student tightly grips the key, and then they leave the room. Shaw exits her office, and see’s the three students are already gathering the other students and telling them to go to Omega training area seven. Shaw starts towards the training area, wondering what hope they have against Hydra’s army without the Phoenix Rangers.

Nathan is shocked when he finds himself almost falling to the ground as the ground itself shakes violently. Nathan has only heard of what an earthquake was like from the history books before their kingdom was transported to this dimension, and that the only time there will be another is when the kingdom is invaded by the army of the hydra.
“This isn’t good.” Leon says as he looks at Grandpa Henry. “We have to get to a good defendable position.” Leon says, looking at his family members. “We won’t be able to do anything out in the open.” Nathan looks around to see that they are on the top of a hill with no trees surrounding them. They are out in the open, and while they have the high ground, they don’t have any weapons to protect themselves.
“Follow me, quickly.” Grandpa Henry says as he starts to walk down the hill. “I know of a easily defendable place not too far from here.” Nicole follows right behind him, Nathan and Leon following behind Nicole.
“We need to get to the other’s.” Nathan says, stopping. “If the Hydra army is truly here, we have to gather what help we can get! Maybe we can lead some sort of resistance against the…”
“Don’t be so foolish!” Grandpa Henry yells at Nathan. “If you want to survive this, then follow me!” The three siblings are confused, their grandfather is talking like he had a plan for when this would happen, but there is no way he could have known that this would happen during his lifetime, right?
“O-Of course, grandpa.” Nicole says, knowing it is unwise to disobey her grandfather. As she follows, she looks back at Nathan and Leon, her look asking for an explanation. Unfortunately, neither of them knew of their grandfather’s plan, or the plans that are in place.

William is already leading a crowd of one-hundred and fifty armed citizens, thirty of them being archers, and yet there are no signs of the hydra army. “Where are they?” A man with a mace asks cautiously. “You’d think they’d be here by now.”
William is unsure of where the army is, William expecting them to just flood in and try to take them over by force of numbers. “Just keep an eye out, they can be anywhe…”
“Over there!” A female voice yells out. The whole crowd looks over to see six spectres coming at them. The spectres are black humanoid creatures, where their shoulders are just two extra heads. On the three heads are two glowing green eyes and a mouth with sharp fangs. Their hands have simple claws, but they are also equipped with small, curved blades for weapons.
“It’s a small number, but we can handle them! Let’s move!” The crowd charges at the three Spectres, the archer’s aiming their arrows at the Spectres. When William clashes blades with the first spectre, he suddenly realizes that something is amiss. Why send only six?
Dozens of Spectres teleport around the crowd, all ready for the fight against the group of humans. “It was a trap!” Someone yelled as the dozens of spectres swarm in. William tries to fight them, but it appears that the Spectres have improved since the great battle five thousand years ago. William can hardly handle fighting one spectre by itself, and he feels like it’s even holding back. He feels it punch him by going through a small gap in his defenses, causing him to land on the ground, holding his stomach in pain.
The battle, if it can be called that, was over in a minute, William shocked that, after all their training, they couldn’t even beat one of them. William is pulled up to his feet as everyone else is forced to stand up, all of their weapons destroyed.
“What do you want from us?” William yells, realizing that no one was actually killed. As if on cue, three dark portals open up, William staring into the black nothingness of the portal. Three creatures step out of the portal, William shocked at what the creatures look like. One of them is wearing the armor of a noble knight without the helmet, but has the face of a wolf with glowing yellow eyes, and has a sword in its sheath on his belt. The other creature is a creature covered in black fur with glowing red eyes, and is wearing protective leg wear, but that is the only thing he wears other than the giant Axe on his back.
The last one is a female where the bottom half of her from the waist down is a spider and the top is a female human with grey skin and multiple green eyes. She is wearing protective armor on her many legs and her torso. She is equipped with two short blades.
“My, look at what we have here, Zunon.” The female spider says happily to the Wolf warrior. “Is this really the best they can do?” Zunon walks up to William, looking him straight in the eyes.
“This is easier than expected, Tricurda.” Zunon says to the female spider. “I thought they’d at least kill one of our men, but it appears that Xooloo overestimated them.” The giant black bear walks up to a female in her mid-thirties with curly blond hair, and then grabs her neck.
“What a shame, I was hoping that at least one of you would prove to be a challenging warrior.”
“Get your hands off her!” William yells, Zunon chuckling. “You all are just cowards!”
“Cowards?” Zunon grabs William’s hair, and pulls it up so then he is looking at him. “We faced you head on, we even gave you the advantage of numbers on your side, yet you couldn’t even beat ONE of our soldiers, what makes you think you could fight us, the three Hydra generals?”
“Stop with the gloating, Zunon.” Tricurda says as three spectres appear behind her, and bow to her. They speak in low growls, and Tricurda chuckles. “Well, well, it appears that the students at the academy are holing themselves up at the academy.” Tricurda looks at Xooloo. “Xooloo, take five squads of Spectres to the academy, round up all the students and then take them to the square.” Xooloo growls, knowing that the students wouldn’t be any better than these fully trained adults. Xooloo takes five squads of Spectres, and then starts towards the academy, disappointed at how easy this invasion is.

Grandpa Henry stops walking in front of the entrance to a dark cave where there are two Phoenix statues at the two sides of the entrance. “You three, go in there. You’ll find what you need to find in there.” Nathan looks in, and gulps.
“I don’t know, maybe we should try and find a better position than a cave to defend ourselves.” Nathan says, afraid of what may be lurking in the dark cave.
“Nathan, trust me, this cave is the safest place in we can go to.” Grandpa Henry says as he crosses his arms. “Trust me on this, we won’t be able to stop Hydra unless we go in here.”
Nicole speaks up. “But Grandpa, what’s in…”
“No time for questions! Go, now!” Henry yells. The three siblings are shocked at their grandfather’s outrage, look at each other, and then they slowly enter the cave. They walk into the darkness, feeling around the walls to help navigate the dark cave.
“So what are we looking for?” Leon asks as his eyes adjust to the darkness.
“We could be looking for a weapon of some kind, or maybe an entrance to a secret base of some kind.” Nicole says, anxious to see what is in this cave. After they take several more steps, a swirling portal opens up in front of them. A powerful pull of wind comes from the portal, pulling at the three towards it. The three try to find something to hold unto, but the walls and the floor are too smooth for them to not grab anything. They are forced off their feet, and are carried by the wind into the portal, Nicole going first, then Leon, and then Nathan. The portal closes behind them, the cave going silent.

Henry walks up to one of the Phoenix statues at the entrance of the cave. He reaches up, and grabs the beaks. He squeezes them together, and then steps back as the statue splits open, revealing a Spatha sword. He grabs the sword, and then weighs it in his hand. He takes a deep breath, and then stands in front of the cave, readying himself. The plans are now in place, and Henry now has to defend this cave against the Hydra Army until those three come back as Power Rangers.
