v2

Slowly getting ready for the Omnimo 3 release...
6 versions in total, but you can easily make your own color by messing with HUE in the images with Paint.net or something.
--
Since the media players in rainmeter suck, here's a Omnimo skin for CD Art Display, works flawlessly and shows art from most media players including WMP. It's my first skin, so if you find any bugs, do tell. Based on the default CAD skin.

Also suggestions are welcome!

You need to have CDArtDisplay Installed!
installation
: Copy Omnimo folder to C:\Program Files\CD Art Display\Skins

How I make it work for me is I extract the color folders, rename them to "Omnimo-then the color" and put each color folder in the skins directory separately. So you will have an Omnimo-Blue, Omnimo-Green, Omnimo-Neutral, Omnimo-Orange, Omnimo-Pink and Omnimo-Red folders in the skins directory. This will cause them to show up as 6 different skins when choosing skins by right clicking on the active skin.

Just came back to this now. OK what I had wrote earlier does not seem to be working now. I just installed the latest version and there was in fact no skin folder in the location I mentioned. I am not sure what is going on but maybe I was using another version at one time. I again tried to install the skin in the skins directory but it would not work. What I do notice though is the omnimo folder does not contain a skin.ini file, only the individual color folders do so maybe that has something to do with it. I will give this some more time to see what I can come up with and perhaps a fix.

For the latest version of CAD do not put the skins in the installation directory. Install them in C:\Users\Your user name\AppData\Roaming\CD Art Display\skins
There is a skin folder there and that is the only place they will work. There is no need to change the names like someone else said.

There is no skins directory there. Putting it in either directory does not work for me.

How to play music

CD art display only shows info, it is not a media player. You need to use another player with it.

The Omnimo project is epic, but I have a little problem.
The winamp/music addon does not show the song title, artist, anything - just the time.
yes, the mp3 tags are set normally & winamp recognises them.

Any ideas? o_O
Fresh Win7 install, fully up-to-date, latest Omnimo and Rainmeter beta 2.1, latest Winamp without any plugins/skins

ok i'm sorry if i'm being an ass but, why does omnimo bring me here when i click the "?" button in the music player? :S

(P.S. The Music player doesn't work by the way :()
fediaFedia's avatar
Because the music doesn't work and it recommends you to use this with CD Art display :)

do you have any plans to release a bigger/full screen/compact version in future?

:::FOR People who are having problem using this:::
1. extract the zipped file and open the folder
2. rename each color folder to "Omnimo- (put color name here)"
3.copy/move all folder to CAD's skins folder

This will make it work

I managed to figure it out. Do you have a link to information about your Facebook app for Omnimo? Because I don't know how to get my RSS feed for it.

Thanks I got it. I just submitted a screenshot of what I have done with Omnimo. I credited you, your gallery and Omnimo 4.

Well, I got this to work now... it atleast looks like the screenshot, but... it doesn't show album art and won't for some reason... is it because I don't have it in the music folder for it in My Music? I tried to use the Search feature for it, found it and applied it but it won't show it...
iareruss's avatar
For some reason, when I put this in the CD Art Display Skins folder, and then re-open CD Art Display and set this skin on it, it still looks like the default skin... it doesn't look like this at all...
