Hi, everyone
is pleased to present to you as our Featured Special Guest Artist today.
Please give a warm welcome to John-Peter and visit his gallery. It's a truly moving experience
Without further ado, on with the interview!
1 - Could you tell us a little about yourself, and when did you find that you were interested in Photography?
My name is João Pedro, I am 18 years old and I live in Brazil.
I got my first camera two years ago, in 2012. It was a Sony DSC H-55 model. As a compact camera, it was really nice and I learned much about photography with this, even if I can't control the focus and other settings. I bought my first DSLR, a Canon Eos Rebel T3i (Canon 600D), in 2013.
2 - How did you end up joining DeviantArt?
I joined on deviantART two years ago. I was searching for art in general. After three months just watching, I decided to post some snapshots here. After that I started my journey through the art of photography.
3 - What is it that attracts you to Photography, as an art form?
I love how the complexity and simplicity are one in the photography. Creating a photo is more than just press the shutter speed bottom in full auto mode. Achieve a good focus, composition and framing is a spontaneous challenge, a nice challenge. Wait - or not - for the right hour and moment, search for the perfect place and subject is always an adventure.
4 - Your gallery is filled with such beautiful, and wonderfully breathtaking imagery. Could you tell us about the process that evolves from an idea, into the finished artwork that you upload?
As a said, take a photo involves a whole process. Sometimes I got my camera and walk with no objective, just searching for something unique or simple, and try to make this simple thing into a special thing.
I try to make my photos spontaneously. If I find a flower, I try to do various angles and compositions, setting the shutter speed, aperture and much more. It is an encounter with myself.
5 - Which are your favourite works in your gallery, and why do they hold a special place in your heart?
I certainly have more than just two favorite works, all my works have a special place in my heart. Two of them are:
The first I took on my 18th birthday. It was a very happy moment of my life and a successful adventure to take the photo.
The second photo I took in my first morning as a photographer. It was a great experience and in another happy moment of my life. Both made me feel even happier and I'm grateful for it.
6 - Our final question would be: which other artist(s) do you admire on DA?
There are so many... Every one leads me to a world of inspiration and beauty.
Some of them are:
