That Feeling

Never noticed how pretty she was. Not until recently. Maybe it was just the breakup hanging in the air - that desire for companionship aching my heart - but I felt something.
We never talked much before. I can't even remember how it truly started, but we started hanging out more after work. Turns out we were into a lot of the same things. Who knew.
That summer. Sitting on the porch together, watching the sunset. God, it was hot out.
Finally had the guts to tell her what happened in the past. Everything. She listened. She understood. She 'got me'.
An intimate connection hung in the air between us. We were quiet; just watching the world go by.
She placed her hand down to adjust her seating, and I took a leap of faith.
