Riley's Christmas

Dear Riley,

I hope college life is going well for you. I things haven't been exactly pleasant between us these past few months, but we figured this holiday was a better time than ever to try to reach out to you.

We only have a limited time on this Earth, and I don't want to spend the what little moments we have with this animosity hanging in the air. We still love you, Riley, no matter what you might say to us. Things haven't been the same since 'that' evening, but it's okay. We know you just need time.

Even if you haven't been the nicest lately, we know you're still a good person, Riley. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Not even yourself.

Anyway, you never gave us a Christmas wishlist this year, so we just decided to get you a new winter jacket. Something to keep you warm with the harsher snow coming soon. Hope you like red flannel.

Take care of yourself, Riley. You have more people that care for you than you know.
