Your work is amazing! I do love grass trees they do well as an infrared image..I just brought a infrared filter and have no idea what I'm doing, do you have any advice for someone like myself who is just getting started, I have read some blogs but its nice to hear from someone directly who obviously knows what they're doing :) :peace:

Infrared really is out of this world huh?
I stumbled upon these beauties in a public garden on a nice sunny day, and bingo!

Thank you :)

Its other worldly alright, and you know, i was interested to see you use a 50D. I have a 40D myself and I'm really keen to add an R72 to my filters, this shot is all the inspiritation i need, well done again!!!

A 50D is a 40D with some extra stuff, very very similar camera.
Just a tip, be careful what lens you use for infrared. My tamron 10-24mm and my other 2 canon zooms leave a massive IR hot spot in the centre of frame. The 17-85mm f4 I used for that shot is less prone to this.

Thanks again :)

Now that a great tip! I was toying with getting a 56mm r72 for my 50mm f1.8, but after what youve said I'll probably get a 67mm for my 17-85mm kit lens. Many thanks again, John

To be honest, I haven't shot IR with my 50mm f1.8 II, but this list [link] says it should be good.
