Absolutely killer! Love the way the foreground/background layers contrast and complement each other.

I have a question for you: do you often present adventurous color palettes like this one to editors only to get them shot down? I mostly work on creator owned and licensed books, and I find I get a lot of requests to keep things local and on model, which frustrates the living hell out of me at times.

Thanks for the comment, and sorry for the delay in response. I've been ignoring my DA page for the past year, but I've decided to get back on here.

To answer your question, sometimes. When I started out, I tried to put wild palettes in all over the place because I was "rebelling" against all these generic colors. Well, doing that got me shot down a lot. So, I realized that the editors needed to see some local colors before they would accept the crazy ones. Now, I try and put in a good mix. However, I will still try and avoid a completely generic palette in any scene because it just isn't fun for me to color that way.

Thanks Zach! Really pleased with this scene, and the book as a whole.
