Rebellion

This image was inspired by the book 'Sovereign' by CJ Sansom, where there had been a rebellion in York in the 16th century - and Henry VIII had tricked the rebels into surrendering, then killing them all and placing the conspirators heads on spikes and nailing body parts to buildings.

This image took days to do and was very challenging.

It's a combination of my own images and stock images. There originally was a knight on horseback on the bridge, but I took him out as the image is busy enough!

I used my own images for the hands, the arms, the sky, the grass embankment and the stone archway. The castle walls had to be created using cloning, multiple layer copying and content aware fill - as the source image was of the two towers only. The bridge had to be extended using cloning and content aware fill - it was a nightmare trying to get the perspective just right!
