Titan Texture Map 8k by FarGetaNik Titan Texture Map 8k by FarGetaNik
This is my take on a high-resolution Titan map. I combined the infrared mosic: and the radar coverage to create this map. I smoothed out the seams as much as possible, but you can still tell it's a mosic. I can't wait for a calibrated mosaic using "despeckled" radar data such as this.

The data is completely greyscale and we don't have color data of Titans surface, so there is no point in coloring the map in. I made a Celestia addon coloring in the entire moon, giving a nice hue to the surface as well. I just uploaded it to the motherlode, let's see how this goes.

Update: The addon got approved, you can download it here: www.celestiamotherlode.… and you can download an yet improved atmosphere definition here: celestiaproject.net/fo…

Hi, I'd like to use this image in a game. Is this OK?

very lovely. ive always been waiting for proper maps of titan from all the cassini data gatherd. now that its at the end of its mission, hopefully we will see proper maps, models, and elevation maps of all the Saturn moons = )

this looks awesome! <3

Thanks so much <3

We got proper elevation models for Mimas, Tethys, Dione and Phoebe. We got decent maps of the mid-sized icy satellites. Only about 15 elevation models and 10 textures to go :| (Blank Stare)  What were they doing the last 13 years? Facepalm  but well let's keep hoping ;)

Uhm... they are on PDS. You can get obj files here: space.frieger.com/asteroids/mo… (PDS source is linked) or cmods from my Project Celestia rework ;) Kexxit converted some into bump maps as well, but the projection is somewhat off compared to NASA maps.

i can do them = ) i can project any 3D model into a cylindrical elevation map using blender. all i do is put a light in the center of the mesh, invert the faces. make it so that the material has no shadows or whatnot. then simply bake it to a cylindrical projection ^^ ultra easy. the light in the center will make the deeper areas more white, and the farther areas more black. then all you have to do is invert the result. anyone can do it i guess as long as they know how =)
been thinking on doing it for space engine with all the solar system modles

cool :) I know if this technique, but I am compeletly lost with blender, so I have no idea how to do this. Kexitt already did this with the saturnian satellites.
But the real problem are the models: sbn.psi.edu/pds/resource/tethy…
Can you handle this data? Over at Celestia forum JVV I think posted a python script for doing this. It worked on some models, but failed with saturn's moons. So all I have are the lower-res models on the §D asteroid catalogue.
