Back at it again with my fan made Don Bluth movies and this time, I'm doing another scrapped project of Don's that never got off the ground; Don's adaptation of a childhood classic, The Velveteen Rabbit. So, since Don Bluth never made it into a full movie, here are some ideas of how I think it would go... -Synopsis: Taking place in the 1980s, a young boy named Gregory (Greg for short) receives a Velveteen Rabbit made by his grandmother for Christmas and due to him being a gift of love, the Velveteen Rabbit becomes one of Greg’s favorite toys. Back at it again with my fan made Don Bluth movies and this time, I'm doing another scrapped project of Don's that never got off the ground; Don's adaptation of a childhood classic, The Velveteen Rabbit. I saw the concept art for it (shown here https://donbluth.fandom.com/wiki/The_Velveteen_Rabbit) and holy crap, it looked so good! So, since Don Bluth never made it into a full movie, here are some ideas of how I think it would go... -Synopsis: Taking place in the 1980s, a young boy named Gregory (Greg for short) receives a Velveteen Rabbit made by his grandmother for Christmas and due to him being a gift of love, the Velveteen Rabbit becomes one of Greg’s favorite toys. Whenever the Velveteen Rabbit plays with him, he feels so alive, like he’s a real rabbit. He learns from an old Skin Horse named Bronco that when the boy loves him enough, he will indeed become a real rabbit and the Velveteen Rabbit strives to become so. Unfortunately, his dream is threatened by a gang of modern toys

This first one is a Don Bluth adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid. I know, I know, I've done adaptations of this story out the old wazoo, but The Little Mermaid has always been one of my fave stories because it's so addicting. It's a story of love, transformation, and sacrifice, a story that gives us insight on two different worlds and how far somebody would go to be with the one they love. Anyhow, here's what I got in mind... -The Undersea Kingdom will be a dark and surreal but ethereal and beautiful place. The various buildings are lines with bioluminescent algae, sea anemone, sea squirts, and pearls, which become more vibrant at night. In addition to a lot of the buildings being made of a combination of sea stone and sunken wrecks (empathizing how humans can fall victims to the power of the sea), the Sea King's palace is made

Starting us off will be a Don Bluth adaptation of Pinocchio because personally, I always wondered what would happen if he did. The original story by Carlo Collodi is admittedly very dark and Guillermo Del Toro cranked that up to eleven by having it placed in Fascist Italy...which I decided to do in this one but with my spin. Anyhow, here's what I have in mind... -The movie will be set during 1920s Italy, before Mussolini ever takes power, and will explore what it truly means to be a "Real Boy". In fact, so called "Real Boys" are more puppets than Pinocchio is due to doing everything they're told without question. -Geppetto is a former WWI soldier who not only lost leg during the conflict (resulting in him getting a wooden leg), but also his beloved son Enrico...who was just about to become a father when his wife announced the baby she was pregnant
