Off-White: Ice Sheet by Fantasy-Creature Off-White: Ice Sheet by Fantasy-Creature
This time around, I choice to do a creature that extinct. There was nothing in the rules aginst it, so I figured why not.

The Woolly Mamoths here repsent the flow of the ice sheets. The white spirit, Heimdall the male, directs the grow of the ice. And the black spirit, Idonea the female, brings green and warm to were the ice was. When the air becomes too cold, Idonea will travel to warm climates with Heimdall following her. And when the world starts to warm again, Heimdall will travel north where it is colder with Idonea following him.

Idonea is often seen as a "good omen" a sign the ice will melt soon. She is best described as gentle and a mothering creature. And though she at times she can seem naive, her and Heimdall both are very wise old creatures with an "elephant's" memory.

Heimdall though, unlike his mate, is rather clause and cold. It is a rather common myth that Heimdall must be killed before the ice will retreat, or else the ice will cover the world. And that the only reason it hasn't thus far is because Idonea is always fighting with him to hold him back. This is of course a very sad lie. But leave it to bored hunters to come with a reason to go on grand hunts. And has lead to many people seeking Heimdall's head, whether for glory or a misguided belief. Either way, it is for this very reason that Heimdall has harden him self.

Now, looking back, I think it would have been best to do these pictures in comic form to better "Show" their elements. Hm, oh well. A few days away from the end of the contest and I'm just happy to get my finally pictures in on time XD

And yes, I wanted to colors around some. I like seeing what get out of them. Like I always thought blue would look best for the black spirit and red for the white. More a "ying-yan" sort of feel. But that may just be me.

Any who, now that this is all done. Back to comic making! XD

PS: Most of their markings mean something and where put on them for a reason. Hint, they are native american symbols XD
