Decortication of death by fangedfem Decortication of death by fangedfem
"They are not long, the weeping and the laughter,
Love and desire and hate:
I think they have no portion in us after
We pass the gate.

They are not long, the days of wine and roses:
Out of a misty dream
Our path emerges for a while, then closes
Within a dream."

..... Shuddder..... P.S That's really nice how the skin is peeling off like that. The makeup/lighting is also nice, but what's with the eye color? Does eye clolor change when you die? O.o Anyway, really nice! :)

Thank you :)

When you die, one of the effects on your eyes is loss of wetness. They also sink back in your head. A film forms over them. Gives pupil dull grey/blue look. I dont think there is an actual change of color post mortem but there is like a dull glazed sheen that takes over and I think your pupils get bigger which makes the eyes appear more black. For this image I did it to create a more dramatic effect.

I love your art. Pics like this that are cold, wet and dead touch me more than anything else. I'm slowly moving away from using a lot of color. Gray and red are all I see these days.

Thank you, most come from emotions and I always try to capture them the best I can. But dont give up on color, there are still many beautiful things in color

Hehe sometimes I do but I often use fake blood by Mehron too. The cows blood is from a butcher and I am always safe with it and clean up well afterwards. I dont use the real too often cause it doesnt keep very long but it does give a good real effect. The Mehron brand is good too though =) Thank yoU!

Hehe - I took the picture of me and then digitally added to it as well. Basically when I do work like this I start out with a photo and get as much into the original photo as possible before taking it into PS- makes it much more realistic that way. On this one I used real blood (cows blood from a butcher), dirt on my face, and a clear gel face mask that peels off like skin when it dries. After I take the picture I bring it into PS to "decay" it even more. A lot of dodging and burning, color adjustment, and sometimes a brush or two.

Oh.... Oh, I didn't know it was a manipulation :XD: Well, you're pretty darn good at it!

Part of it is and the rest is in the original photo. IMO the best way to do a manip is to get as much real in the original photo as possible to avoid having to do too much manipulation. Thank you :)

I don't know how to manipulate photos at all. All I can do is just draw with mechanical pencils and (people tell me) shade fairly well. I can't color or anything. But that sounds like it would be easy to do

Breathtaking  People rarely come across someone has the talent to make a photomanip that is realistic enough to make them stare at the screen and absorb all the details... in my case, you're the first ;)
