Text Art - Earth Day Contest...I suck at time zones, so I really hope I'm not late with my entry
Have no dslr to use so I opted to play around with my own photos and stock photos from sxc.hu, this took me a week!! I was busy with other stuff....and I cut out all those images to put in there....
Grass stock and earth stock (in the green) are from cgtextures.com
there's some brushes in there from vecteezy.com as well - [link]
all the other brushes used are my own
I don't like it completely, if I had more time I'd fix it some more, maybe the reason why I'm not happy with it because it's not minimal...usually I work with one thing and that's it...anyway I'm rambling
Concept: Earth comprises of well earth first of all, water (the colour of the text represents water and there's and earth texture over it to combine the two) animals, plants, humans, clouds, everything that contributes to it, or pollutes it. I wanted to incorporate the text as in to make is symbolically represent earth and a portion of the beautiful stuff that makes it what it is.
Earth is way too beautiful for it to be polluted, please diminish litter and pollution if you can guys!
Oh and I know earth day is gone, but!! I made it for the intention of that day, let's say this one is made in honour of next year
I'm tired now, oh yes I drew the letters by hand, took a photo of it since my scanner has issues and made it into a vector and 3D shaped in illustrator, the original text was slightly different, but a bit more conceptual (I'll upload it later), the rest is done in ps...hope you like it...critique not really desired as I said I know some parts needs tweaking but I need to make the deadline.
