Astray - Gig and Vigilance

Gig the Raichu,
One of the three founding members of Team Astray. He's a cruel and selfish bastard that's prone to causing an uproar everywhere he goes. Anything that isn't doesn't involve fighting or sleeping seems to irritate him. He deeply despises all members of the Shinx evolutionary line and holds a strong grudge against Team BAO's "Lord Zetta," with whom he has been in constant rivalry for years.

Vigilance the Shinx,
If you were to ask any member of Team Astray as to how Vigilance came to be a part of the group, they would probably stare off into space for a moment before shrugging their shoulders and telling you they haven't a clue... unless you're talking to Gig, he'd just tell you to "fuck off." Regardless of origins, the young Shinx has clearly been accepted as part of the family. He is highly energetic and still holds on to a childlike innocence. The Everstone worn around his neck is intended to prevent him from ever evolving into a Luxio. Vigilance is the most highly restricted member of the group, and is generally not allowed to leave the base unless accompanied by an escort.

I feel like Gig may look a bit out of proportion, but that's because I drew him first and Vigilance second, then had to compensate by shortening Gig's legs a bit so that they wouldn't appear longer than those of the person in front of him.

Gig's outfit is my favorite... I designed it under the impression that Gig despises wearing clothes because they're too confining and make him uncomfortable. But he still has to wear them on occasion... so I designed a simple outfit that was meant to be two to three sizes too big for him and are kept on only by a belt that's fit tightly around his waist. His shirt is tucked into his pants, but its so large that the excess hangs down and covers the belt completely from view. The idea was to make things loose enough that they'd barely be touching him and still not impede his movement.

The bells on Vigilance's tail aren't for show or to make him look cute, but rather so that the other members of Team Astray can keep a better eye... or rather "ear" on his whereabouts at all times.
