I'm very busy preparing myself for Doll Prague, the doll art exhibition at the end of this year in Prague. I'm looking so forward to this weekend. I  was invited by Bohdana Klátilová, who organizes this wonderful event. Together with some other DABIDA members we will be exhibiting there from  Friday 29 November until Sunday 1 December.   The exhibition will be at the Michna Palace and Tyrs house and is situated in the beautiful historic district of Prague, beneath the Prague castle. I will be staying a few days longer to go and visit Prague. I'm told we're staying in a beautiful area, so there's a lot to discover. If you know any are

I worked really hard the last few weeks, I had so much fun. I often wonder why I love this so much, because it's quite boring, to be honest. But the joy of seeing a little creature coming to life from your own imagination is priceless I guess….   So, get ready for some new work in progress pictures, there's a lot of them this week! I hope you enjoy them, and leave your comment in the comment box below this article!! By the way, I started this sculpture in september, last year, so these are not only pictures from the last few weeks. Just saying, otherwise you may get the impression that a sculpture can be easily sculpted in a few days… hèhè.

Here she finally is! Meet Dryad, my latest fairy sculpture. A couple of weeks ago I posted the work in progress pictures on my blog. (Here's the link to the previous article.) And now she's finished. Let me know what you think about her. Thanks and enjoy! Here's the rest of the work in progress pictures: Painting the eyes with the genesis paints. Genesis paint stays fluid untill I set the paint with a heat gun. Then I bake her one last time in the oven, so the paint is set well. The temperature that sets this paint is the same as the temperature you can bake the clay. So it's a perfect match! Drilling holes in her head for the branches…
