A friend worked with the first movie and got hold of some of the prop - from that this was made. The medallion it was cast from did not have two "face" sides but this coin was made looking the same in reverse.
Copyright and stuff: Disney I claim no credit for Pirates of the Caribbean, intellectual property and/or ownership - I'm just a fan and this is a tribute.
Wow! They actually sell 23k. gold plated sterling silver coins? Now that would have saved me some trouble! That's so cool! ..Making it was probably cheaper than the trip (and entrance fee) there, though...
Well, those are the materials I work with. I offered to make it in gold (as he first wanted a REAL real coin), but that would have cost somewhere about 2000$. Heh. He almost choked. And laughed and thought I was joking.
I made it, sure. But I have no rights or ownership of the Disney intellectual property, merchandise, look of this coin etc, etc.. I'm trying to cover my arse here. I made an upgraded "copy" from a movie original.
