Mokume Mosaic band Silver and Palladium by fairyfrog Mokume Mosaic band Silver and Palladium by fairyfrog
Mokume is a technique where you layer different metals into a bullion, fuse it together and then manipulate the result by twisting, filing and milling it to get various patterns like wood grain, stars, stripes, dots, squares or even letters.

This was made from a strip cut lengthwise before you start manipulating it, giving a striped band which then was cut, turned and soldered together to shape a band.

Working on a pair of gorgeous wedding rings this was my "in between"-project to learn how the bullion behaved.
