For the love of Alba

I miss Scotland so much...
Spent my (pretty much only) real vacation day making this pendant. I'll be wearing it on a friends' wedding tomorrow.

I carved it in amber, a beautiful "anatomic heart"-shaped piece of natural Baltic 60 million year old resin. ;)
Using two sizes of ball burrs, and then nothing but my tiniest 1,5mm. 30-degree-angle burr the carving was surprisingly quick. :squee:

It is my most detailed carving yet. The size of it is approx. 35mm from top to bottom.
A dragon can look any way at all and people will still probably identify them as dragons. Making naturalistic flowers is a lot more difficult in my opinion.

It looks just the way it should look. I could look at it for a long, long time and still not have enough.
