My Bio

Glass, jewelry metalcraft and music are my great passions in life!
I do not only want a piece of jewelry to be an item but part of a statement, expression, memory or identity. A magical, personal piece of history; a hidden gem; a fairytale and memory in a mundane world.

I believe that nothing material follow us in life for so long as a loved piece of jewelry. Many keep their tattered childhood pieces and pass them along to their own children, or re-forge them into more adult jewelry to be a part of their life still. Even in death, some wish to keep their beloved pieces on to be buried with, the most common example being the wedding ring.

Jewelry is important. It is a finely tuned system of social codes, and that very jewelry language is what I love to play with and try to find the right expression and convey emotions!
To take a material and make a transformation from a mere thing to a wearable piece of durable art. A found rock, a salvaged old ring, a childs' first tooth, a loved ones' lock of hair, a piece of wood from a house now torn down.. I love creating jewelry with a background, a soul and a voice.

I live in Sweden and currently avoid commissions. I sometimes do them though - Preferably in metal or glass, but some special items in mixed media or textile happens once in a while as well ;) (Wink)
Lately I started using horn for carving, both for "medieval" drinkware as well as jewelry.
traditional glassblowing is also what is happening right now; and I get to assist and learn from very skilled tutors.

Currently there's nothing happening on my Etsy, since trying to do the whole VAT/tax/currency change conversion from Paypal to the Swedish IRS/tax system is a nightmare.

Dear Marion.

Wherever you went you shed magic onto the rest of us. Glimmer of marvel and most of all, believing in artists who didn't believe in themselves.

Thinking about you often; it was an honor and a privilege.
You are missed.

Oh holy shiiiiiii.. WOW! OMG! .. That's AMAZING!!

Thank you so much! I am very happy with the outcome. AND the taste! <3

This looks nice and simplistic.

Something I have noted when taking photographs of jewelry is that a colour background often is better than a black or dark grey one. the contrast is difficult for the camera to handle and often gives a harsh, rugged look to even the most carefully polished piece.

Also, in your shots the focus is on the background, not on the ring.

I solved this problem myself by taking the photo's a bit further away and then cropping them down to size in order to get a clearer picture. Either you do it like that and mimimize the lense distortion, or you can get a cam with better macro.

That's all I can say right now, since I can't work out the detail and finish on the ring.

Good luck!
Spiral Ring

Thank you! It sounds rather sweet as well! <3
