In exactly one week I will be leaving to go on one of the biggest adventures I've yet to take.
My whole family, lead by my mountaineer dad, will be hiking up to the top of the Nepalese mountain Mera Peak.
While not one of the big monster mountains of the world, it will still be an incredibly challenging journey, and one I am super pumped about.
Surviving dangerous plane landings, Crossing shaking rope bridges, Sharing mountainside cliff paths with yaks, Praying at buddhist shrines, using ice picks to climb ice walls, and breathing the crisp fresh air at 6476m. I will be channeling my inner Indiana Jones and imagining I am a member of the Fellowship of the Rings on this journey.
i will of course be taking as many photos as I possibly can (many of which I am sure will end up as stock references)
My dad climbed Everest in 1988, the same year I was born. In fact my mum was 3 months pregnant with me when she followed him up to Everest base camp. So for him to revisit that part of the world and take his 4 adult children (plus my boyfriend, who jokes my dad is going to push him off a cliff) this adventure a very rewarding full circle moment.
