This one was a blast to make XD Charles is such a silly bun.

You can read the actual interview here!

There's a quiet knock on the door, a notepad and pen clutched tightly in his claw as he waited by the door. It was always nerve wracking meeting your heroes. When it opened, he gave a stiff bow.

"Excuse me! Could I perhaps trouble you for an interview?"

_

Koppu, the Buneary who had opened the door, looked upon the Growlithe with suspicion. "An interview, what's that?"

A quiet voice from behind him said: "He wants to talk with you and ask you questions." A red Duskull's face now appeared next to Koppu in the doorway. "Oh, are you Charles? From the Apricot Times? I've-"

"Sure, I can tell you about my epic adventures!" Koppu interrupted him.

-

Charles blinks, “Wow someone actually knows who I am?” He gives the Duskull a brief smile, and a bow. “Indeed I a-” He falls flat on his face.
With a jump, he leaps to his feed, and pulls out a pen and paper. “That would be great! Your very adventures are the reason I even came to Tabira,” he gives a slight cough.

“Ah, but that’s beside the point. Is this all your team? Tell me about yourselves, where did you come from?” Charles rocks briefly on his feet, so excited that someone from -that team- knew who he was.

_

Koppu straightened up, a grin appearing on his face. "I'm from the desert! I defended my home from enemy Pokémon all alone. It made me super strong!"

Sigmund, the Duskull, led Charles into the room as Koppu was speaking. "Actually, there's one more member. Dalte is over there." He pointed towards a Trapinch sitting at the other end of the room, throwing them an annoyed stare.

_

Charles stiffened, giving a pathetic, whimper in response, and took a biiiiig step to the side so Koppu was between them.
“It must have been tough, how did you get water? How did you survive, on your own, no one but the very elements to-” he coughs.

“Er, I mean. What brought you to Tabira?”

_

"The water WAS my home, of course!" Koppu replied. "You know, a big pool of water in the desert? And I wasn't alone, I was with my mom."

He looked away from Charles for a second, looking a little less confident, then continued: "I went to Aster Village to have an awesome life. And to become strong!" Dalte snorted, but Koppu didn't notice and went on. "But then the guilds closed, and we moved to Tabira."

_

Charles nodded, quickly scribbling on his notepad, smiling as he looked back up. “You seem certainly strong to me, from what I saw.” A soft chuckle escaped him.

“It’s unfortunate the guilds closed, do you think your chances with Tabira will be better? Do you forsee any ‘end goal’ once you become as strong as can be?”

_

"Tabira's incredible! I get to battle for the Trackers and get stronger, and I'm becoming a great Scholar, and I'm performing with Alsa and all the others, and I have a lot of friends! I want to make many more friends!" Koppu threw his paws in the air at those last words.

_

Charles nods eagerly. “Have you made any unlikely allies in your travels assisting the guilds?”

_

Koppu frowned. “Unlikely allies…?”

-

“Ah, allies you didn’t expect. Like an enemy becoming a friend.”

_

Koppu pointed at Sigmund. "Well, Sigmund is an unlikely ally! He was with that weird Banette from Aster, but now he's a friend!"

Sigmund whispered, mostly to himself, that Ina was not weird. Not when you got to know her.

_

Charles chuckled. “Well he is quite the pretty one. I’ve never seen a Duskull with that color.” Tapping his chin, he thought for a moment.

“And your other friend? What would you say they are to you?”

_

Sigmund looked away at this remark, but with his face no one could tell whether it made him happy or sad.

Koppu simply said: "That's Dalte."

When everyone else remained quiet, Dalte looked up and said: "That's not what he meant, stupid. He means whether we're friends or siblings or whatever."

"Oh!" the Buneary said. "Dalte's my teammate."

_

Charles writes that down, smiling. “I heard there was some sort of event around finding friends. I wonder if I should attempt participating in that...it would be nice to have someone to deliver papers…” He taps his chin with the feather, already thinking of the things he’d do with a lackey. Shaking his head, he jolts.

“Ah! I’m going off on a tangent again. Sorry! I hope we too can be friends.” He gives a cheerful smile.

“Why is your house filled with sand if I may ask?” He glances down, shaking sand out of his furred leg.

_

Koppu grabbed one of Charles' paws with both of his, shaking it enthusiastically. "Yes, we're friends! Nice to meet you!" He let go of the paw, then said: "Our house is filled with sand because that's what the desert is like!"

_

Charles jolts up and down with the handshake, very light. “N-Nice to meet you too,” he speaks, fussing with his fur after the fact.

“Yes but why would you want your house to be like a desert? It uh...is your house right?”

“I-I mean it isn’t spreading to other houses right? Like magic sand? That’s how deserts work right? They just magically get more sand?” Charles is on the verge of panic.

_

"Really?!" Koppu shouts excitedly. "Then all of Tabira will soon be covered in sand! Awesome!"

He drops himself on the sandy floor, muttering about all kinds of locations covered in sand.

"That's not... I don't think that's how it works," Sigmund carefully puts in. "Dalte fills this room using Sand Tomb. The sand doesn't spread by itself."

Koppu sat up, now muttering in disappointment.

_

Charles quivers in fear, “That-That’s not a good thin-oh.” He lets out a relieved breath.

“I will admit, it is an interesting use,” he looked to Sigmund. “You know quite a lot, how long have you been around? Seen anything interesting these two missed?” Charles leans forward eagerly, and falls flat on his face.

He jumps to his feet once more.

_

"Are you okay...?" Sigmund asks doubtfully, before seeing Charles jump back to his feet.

"I lived with Ina, the Banette Koppu mentioned. Not much happened, really... I think I missed out on a lot more than Koppu and Dalte. Like the battle with Gilgamarsh, and the guilds' missions."

_

Charles nods, and writes down a few more pieces, snapping the notebook closed. “Thank you for your time, I hope to do you justice in the upcoming issue” He gives a bright smile.

“Thank you for your time!”

_

Koppu frantically waves an arm. “Bye!”

_

Charles takes a step back, waving, and tumbles out the door. Once again, he quickly jumps up, and heads on his way, smiling. Finally a story! A water Buneary!
