Sorceress witch by FacundoDiaz Sorceress witch by FacundoDiaz
Something I was doing because I was bored and then when I started to color it I realize it didn't work out as I expected, in fact it looked pretty horrible, so Im posting the black and white version.

PS: You can color it if you want

I can't even draw a straight line. Your work makes me envious, keep it up :) Personally I feel color would ruin this piece, it works much better this way. You made the character interesting, sexy but not slutty, shadowy yet perceivable. I am only just now seeing your work but I am impressed so far and look forward to your future works. They want me to write 100 words for your critique, personally I feel what needs to be said here is little other than praise. And so I will wrap this up with fourteen words of useless silly filler.
What do you think?

I do this to myself all the time too, get bored, start painting, think it's looking great and then the horrid realization that something is terribly off. Then you're stuck with the decision to scrap it or keep pushing. I may be wrong but it looks like you may not have had reference photos for this. It may be worth trying to acquire them if not, that will save you in the future.

I think the bad vibe you're getting from it is because the proportions are off. The arms are too short, and the legs are too long as a whole and the lower half of the leg is also too long in relation to the thigh. The thighs also seem 'thick'. If you draw a line from the knee to where the thigh joint would be you will also find that her left hip is not right.

There are a few ways to fix this. The way I would go about it would be to: take the torso using the lasso tool, and enlarge it by about 100% this will start to fix the issue. Then do the opposite for the lower leg, reduce their length by about 25% and then paint down the girth of the thighs and fix the hip joints (her left leg should be more to the outside of the fabric.)

I like the costuming, and I think this will turn out as a great concept after some tweaks. Keep up the great work!

I hope it helps, and wasn't harsh or confusing.

What method do you use for coloring?
