El coloso mantiene una relación simbiotica con un árbol que crece dentro de su anatomía, las raíces son sus venas, las hojas son sus pulmones.
El beneficio es mutuo, ya que el árbol se encuentra protegido por una resistente esfera translucida, y en ella se almacenan los rayos del sol, que le brindan energía al coloso.
Pasa la mayor parte del tiempo enterrado bajo la tierra, dejando expuesta solo la esfera.
