John and the Jaguar

Swirling rain, the kind of peaceful downpour that marks a lax day, caressed Eliza’s face as she came to on the beach. I remember…the helicopter started to turn over.  The explosion… She pushed herself up onto her elbows and forearms, looking blurredly into the crashing grey waves at her feet. I never saw John and Gregor fall out with me.  Oh, God no…. Frantic, sad wheezing leaked out of Eliza’s mouth.  She was in shock, could barely breathe as she struggled onto her exposed feet, shoes having been torn off from the whiplash, making erratic prints in the dark brown sand as she struggled to stay upright.  T

Lady Timpani glanced at the scraps of parchment on Merlon’s desk in Flipside.  She was visiting, as she often loved to do, the home of her old guardian who saved her as a pixl.  Conversation was usually bright and about the prosperity of the two towns in the gap between dimensions, but today was something serious. “I want to know more about the Dark Prognosticus,” said Timpani confidently. She knew the fell book that had foretold the end of the world at the whim of the Chaos Heart had not come to mean much in the way of destiny, but she felt that, in all its unfurling pages of evil, some information could still be useful to

Petalburg was just as peaceful as it usually was.  Koops, the town’s current mayor, was constantly torn between it and his post at Nintendo.  Both were forgiving if he was away from one for too long; without question, Koops was harder on himself than anyone else. Among those who understood him the most was his longtime girlfriend, Koopie Koo.  Koops had thought many times about finally popping the question after seven long years of being together, but his uncertainty that had come back from taking on too much was preventing him from doing it.  He was lucky his hopefully soon-to-be fiancée was a patient koopa. Not one to let a possible danger to the cosmos continue to exist, the mother of the stars crashed through the same thick Zoness smog her opponent had gone through.  The Egg Carrier III was still intact. Meanwhile, Bowser was the one who received this second shock the most.

20 Crazy Awesome Years - 5/3/16 - 12:57AM

It's been nearly three months since I touched this journal last, but we'll just pencil that in under "I was too busy to even think about DA besides browsing to procrastinate." I am now two decades old if anyone else cares.  Honestly, you shouldn't because anyone who doesn't die young has this day, but it still feels special to me (obviously because it's my birthday). I put a lot of emphasis on dates and new beginnings, largely due to my obsessive compulsive nature.  I just can't help it, but most of the time, I wouldn't want it the other way around.  Collecting my thoughts for reflection and always being able to step back and look at what I

Runner - 2/19/16 - 5:30PM

I'm a runner in both the physical and metaphorical senses of the word.  I've always loved to exercise that way - unleash my inner demons in motion and experience that runner's high in an acceptable cathartic release.  But in my way of life, I'm a runner too.  I'm always trying to escape the real world and make it better by looking at worlds, either ones I've created or ones I have loved growing up, that have higher highs and lower lows than Earth.  I also run towards my goals.  I strive to make the world a better place for everyone in the ways that I can, so I'm always chasing those who would hinder that process and make it harder for others

That's Me - 2/16/16 - 03:13AM

That's Me - 2/16/16 - 03:13AM

Of the many contradictions that I seem to represent, one of the most interesting to me personally is my lack of self-respect supplemented with the backbone unlike that of most others to stand up for what I believe in.  I must truly admire certain ideologies but not the vessel that tries to live them out.  I'll do most anything for other people; I'm always the 'yes' man.  I spread myself way too thin, harming myself in that process and trying to make sure I make everybody else happy while also transforming myself into the walking resume I'm becoming.  However, when it comes to me being treated unfairly alongside others or not, I am always the
