ikr? people even portray fan made aph scotland as rude and grumpy guy.
Cause they never been to Scotland, don't actually know how to act like a scott, and only watch Hollywood movies where the Scottish boy is a bully.
Ah, I never really thought about that! But I guess it also has to slightly do with some poor research for personality since doing a quick search on the web and reading a few pages can easily give a fairly well rounded idea of how they act and such but some people seemingly don't like to do much research ;;
Yeah but there's also the fact that no person acts the same way. You could come up with any personality for a country and it wouldn't really be right or wrong. But yes you are right. People have a tendency to only cover the first 3 pages of a book (if even) and setting the book down before uncovering the true identity of the characters. My friends took a trip to Scotland, saw museums, went to bars, talked with some locals and had a downright good time. If you want a real portrayal of a Scott, you need to look for someone who's very tourist friendly, polite, but curses like a sailor. They aren't necessarily rude people. Infact they are genuinely very welcoming and frirndly. They just have potty mouths and that's okay because I honestly think the whole world is filled with some potty mouths no matter where you go. But I think that's where the rude portrayal stems from because it is rather prominent in that area. They confuse a sailor's tongue for ill manners. But they forget that Scott's aren't all brute Force, sailor tongues, and rude behavior. They are also very jolly. They tell some amazing jokes, amazing stories, are very prideful, smart, and uplifting people. Not to mention some really rich history. They have some of the prettiest castles and towns, their emblem is a unicorn, how bad ass is that? They have awesome music and mythology.things people don't really think about.
