[Commission] HRUNTING/AGESILAUS heavy armour



Commission for an anonymous person.
This heavy armour unit is derived from the HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL program of large combat suits. It is equipped with a jump pack, an automatic grenade launcher, a precision autocannon, a light machinegun, a missile launcher, and an energy blade.

I did not ask what the story behind this is, so don't ask me.

Lore description from the commissioner:


HRUNTING/AGESILAUS, hereon referred to as AGESILAUS, began on 11/27/543 in response to the abandonment of the HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL Mark I ADS, as well as the less than optimal HRUNTING Mark III [B] Exoskeleton hereafter referred to by its colloquial name “Cyclops'' in the role of breakthrough armor. The HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL MARK I ADS is under-armored relative to its size and intended function as well as being cost-ineffective; additionally, the arm integrated t261 20mm rotary cannon had limited ammo capacity compared to its fire rate, thus running “dry” quickly and rendering the limb useless for anything other than serving as a blunt weapon. However, insight gained during the program's run proved invaluable during later projects. Similarly, the Cyclops, while cheaper and better armored than the HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL MARK I ADS, is vulnerable to heavier covenant fire and, despite its haptic feedback, lacks the neurological link that would allow the pilot to take full advantage of the suit's capabilities by removing the “intention, action” lag. The AGESILAUS initiative is based out of Weapon Research Facility T07C on ATLAS-IV, The current home to the ONI HRUNTING team after being evacuated from Weapon Research Facility T12A following its destruction in 2549. The HRUNTING team was supplemented with ONI personnel involved with MJOLNIR system design as well as Naomi-10 in order to gain insight from personnel with working expertise and combat in MJOLNIR. Additionally, the facility's smart AI was deeply involved in the program. The final configuration of AGESILAUS was chosen as a humanoid frame with the operator in a vertical position at 87° with knees bent slightly to take pressure off of the feet. At the same time, their head remains in the helmet. The suit is controlled via a neurological link to remove the so-called “intention, action” lag, i.e., the break between the brain sending orders to the limbs and the limbs moving. This configuration also removed the inherent vulnerabilities and limitations of the HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL MARK I ADS.

AGESILAUS program goals were as follows:

  1. A height no greater than 3.96m [Addendum 0412545: product must be able to “crouch” down to under 1.5m in a storage/transportation configuration]

  2. A combat weight no greater than 1300Kg

  3. A two-layer shield system comprising of a “bubble shield” like that found on the HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL MARK 1 ADS, and a personal shield like that found on “standard” Mjolnir V [Addendum 1207543: must be able to enter an armor lock state]

  4. A power generation level twice or greater than current MJOLNIR systems [Addendum 0719544: Bubble shield should be powered on a VAUNTLOCK APU in addition to main suit supply in order to not compromise inner shield in failure]

  5. Mobility and agility on par with a Spartan-II in Mjolnir Powered Armor and greater than HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL Mark I ADS

  6. Air Mobility at least equal with the HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL Mark I ADS

  7. An integrated sensor package capable of providing 360 visibility in both visual and infrared spectrums, a 1-80x visual zoom, Enhanced Peripheral Vision Via Progressive Compression capability, MMW and LIDAR targeting capabilities, an acoustic locator system, and a motion sensor/visual distortion sensor with a range no less than 1500m [Addendum 1130543: Combined sensor fusion should be able to detect the position of covenant active camouflage system based on imprints on the ground and other visual/audio anomalies]

  8. Smart AI onboard Capability

  9. Full NBC capability for HAZENVIROP, Hardvac operation capability [Addendum 0327544: product should be thermally insulated to handling temperatures of up to 810.1K]

  10. Onboard Waste Processing and nutrient/hydration capability [Addendum 1201543: product should be able to support wearer for a week on internal food and hydration]

  11. Full spectrum jamming and countermeasures

  12. a minimal plate thickness around the torso of no less than 3cm, as well as the development of a thermal ablative coating that can aid in the dissipation of plasma impacts

  13. Suit must, in part, be “plug and play” modular in order to facilitate rapid repairs, replacement of armor components, and ease of upgrade to give program longevity

somehow i think i'm more scared of a sneaky spartan team, i know that this thing won't fit through the installation's doors after the first half of the mission, although barriers have never stopped halo fans before
