Part 3
“What fantastic finds!!”
Gaia was gushing over all the information the teams had brought back about the creatures they had seen.
While she listened to their stories she began examining the creature so many of the teams had brought back.
She decided to call them 'Toulons', and apparently they were the cause for all the mysterious loud noises in the Emerald Rainforest.
And no wonder they were so hard to find, after all there are very few creatures in Loonia that can camouflage.
The final teams were drifting back to camp and Gaia observed that many of the Toulons seemed to be rather distressed.
They kept screeching back into the Emerald Rainforest and would sometimes be met with a reply.
Gaia asked the nearest Toulon to show her what was causing it such grief. It immediately took off and beckoned her to follow.
Gaia told Travis and the teams to stay at base, and she will be right back.
The Toulon lead her a little ways into the Emerald Rainforest to a nest filled with Toulon eggs. One, however seemed very out of place as it was much larger than the rest and far to big to be that of a Toulon. There was a Toulon already at the nest and sat on top of the odd egg.
It looked at Gaia fiercely as though it was trying their best to guard it. However it was clear that they were exhausted.
Gaia guessed that the Toulons took it upon themselves to try and care for these eggs they've found, even though it was just too much for them.
Gaia soothed the nest-guarding Toulon and told them that help was on the way.
She made her way back to the base and gave her report.
“You have all worked so hard so far, and we have gathered so much valuable information about the Emerald Rainforest.
But my fellow Loonians, before we leave there is one last task for us to do. The Toulons need our help.
They are burdened with taking care of eggs that are not our own. I have a suspicion about them, but Travis and I are going to contact Garan to be sure.
It will be a while before Garan can get here, so in the meantime your final task is to help the Toulons!
Recover the strange large eggs from their nests and bring them back to base.
Be gentle with the Toulon's. Let them know what you are doing and ask them for help. I'm sure they will be more than happy to offer their assistance.
Good luck and stay safe out there!"
