To celebrate we are holding our annual Melanoid Event all month long.
This event ends when it is no longer March anywhere in the world.
Garan has uncovered a giant cache of melanoid eggs! There are so many eggs that all of the Order members AND Bot are on egg delivering duty.
Draw any Order Member or Bot delivering a Melanoid Egg to one of your evoloons.

Earn Melanoid Eggs
Garan has uncovered a giant cache of melanoid eggs! There are so many eggs that all of the Order members AND Bot are on egg delivering duty.
Draw any Order Member or Bot delivering a Melanoid Egg to one of your evoloons.
Rules
- Both the evoloon delivering the egg and the evoloon receiving the egg must follow the Visibility Rule
- The evoloon receiving the egg can be an evoloon that you own, or any of the Loonling NPCs.
- Drawings must be colored. Backgrounds and shading are optional. There are no tiered rewards.
- You can participate a maximum of 7 times. BUT you must draw a different Order Member/Bot each time.
- Only one egg can be delivered per drawing.
- Submit drawings to the Events - 2 folder.
- Comment HERE with your drawings (you must link the art submitted in the folder, not a sta.sh link). A mod will comment ON THE ARTWORK if the drawing is approved.
Rewards
- 1 Melanoid Egg per drawing (max of 7)
- 1 participation for each visible evoloon included in the drawing. You can only earn participation for evoloons that you own.

Hatch Melanoid Evoloons
Step 1: Design a melanoid evoloon
Designing a melanoid is easy. Simply design an evoloon regularly, then change all of the required white marks into black(or dark grey) marks. You can use the melanoid eggs you earned in the event above to design Normal melanoid evoloons. OR you can use any evoloon eggs/tickets from the treasury to design a Special Race melanoid evoloon.
Step 2: Submit the design to dA
The proper approval comment must be added to the deviation description.
If you are hatching a Normal melanoid evoloon, link the approved event artwork in the description.
If you are using a special race egg/ticket you must get an approval comment from the treasury. Link the approval comment in the deviation description.
Step 3: Submit the design for approval
There is no specific folder for melanoid evoloons. If it is a normal evoloon, submit to the normal evoloon folder. If it is a rainbow evoloon, submit to the rainbow evoloon folder. The same goes for safari/ancient/genoloon/etc.
You can submit melanoid designs until it is no longer March anywhere in the world.

Step 4: Correct any design mistakes
If there are any design mistakes a mod will let you know. The mistakes must be fixed before the design is approved. If the design is submitted on time (before March ends) We will give you until April 5th to correct any mistakes. If any mistakes are not fixed by then the design will be declined permanently.

Rules
- A maximum of 5 melanoid evoloons can be hatched per user
- Any unhatched melanoid eggs will be added to the treasury AFTER the event is over. They can then be traded/given away just like any other egg. Or you can save them for the melanoid event next year!
- melanoid eggs can only be hatch during a melanoid event
- Designs must be submitted by March 31st. Edits must be made by April 5th. Please do not wait until the last minute to submit designs or fix mistakes!
Q&A
Can I still make regular evoloons during the event?
Yes! non-melanoids can still be made during melanoid season.
If a already have a special race egg, do I have to draw an NPC delivering it?
No. If you already own the egg you can just hatch it like you normally would. No extra steps are required to make it a melanoid during the melanoid season.
Can bred evoloons no longer be melanoids?
Not this year. Breeding melanoid evoloons will come back in future melanoid seasons.
In previous events there were specific shades of black and grey that we had to use. Are those gone now?
You no longer have to pick from those very specific swatches, but it does still have to be a black or very dark grey.
I don't want any new evoloons but I do want Participation. Can I join the event and choose to not earn eggs?
Unwanted eggs can be traded or given away after the event is over. But if you really don't want any just say so whenever you post your artwork HERE
Can melanoid evoloons be hatched all year long?
No! Melanoid evoloons can only be hatched during Melanoid event, which are once a year.
Can I use the same evoloon to receive the egg each time just with a different NPC?
Yes. You can receive multiple eggs with the same evoloon.
If I use the same evoloon in multiple submissions, do I earn multiple participation?
Yes! Rack up those participation points!!
Can I make one big file with the 7 drawings?
No. Please make seven different deviations.
