Esther's Leviathan
I made a friend, in the summer of '96. This is pretty significant because I don't make many friends, and that year was a particularly lonely one. We worked together in a hotel bar on the outskirts of Vegas, and after work I'd smuggle half a bottle of rum or bourbon from behind the counter and we'd finish it together in the carpark while smoking our lives away and talking about tomorrow's weather.
We were both depressed. People used to tell us that we were sad because we were pessimists, but they didn't have a damn clue. True pessimists are the happiest people in the world. No, we were cynics; which is to say, optimists who had their hopes da

Man, I never know what to say in these things. So I guess I'll just idea-dump.
I'm nearly done with my first semester of university and holy shit what the fuck where did all that time go? I've been tutoring Literature for money but keep on binge-buying books and art equipment so I end up with no savings and that's terrible because I'm trying to move out soon HUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRR.
On that note, though, I've been getting pretty big into the contemporary Australian poetry and literature scenes, and a lot of the tutors in my Creative Writing course are quite well-known in those loops and SHOCKINGLY talented. Sorry my posts have been irregular,
Hey folks. It's been a while since my last journal, I'm not exactly a deviantART regular anymore. Some of you might remember the days when I'd post stuff on a really regular basis, comment like crazy and whatnot. I'm afraid I've fallen out of that loop for at least the last year or so, and I apologize for that. There was one period, I think, where I didn't submit anything for at least 6 months. Hey folks. It's been a while (again). How's everyone been?
Well I'm on holidays now, and have once again been unceremoniously dumped in China for the next 5 and a half weeks. It's kind of shit.
Incidentally, does anyone know how to bypass the filter on Facebook? Yeah yeah, I'm an addict, get over it.
I've actually been doing a lot of work lately for my studio art class, as well as more of my own sketches, so expect maybe to see some of that. Maybe.
