You could tell something was wrong.
Lately every time you saw Eridan lately he seemed upset.
It was like if you said anything he would go flying off the handle. But it seemed as if it was only to you. You've been dating for a while now, was he getting tired of you? The more you thought about it the more worried you got. You didn't want to lose Eridan. You decided that you would go see him. You grab your keys and your purse and head out the door.
After a while you show up at Eridan's hive with a bag from Taco Bell. You were hungry and figured you might as well grab something for both of you and eat together. You head up to the front door to find it cracked open slightly.
You look around to see if there's any signs of break in. Nothing. You slowly push the door open and pop your head in to look around. The whole place was a mess. There were books and broken glass all over the floor. "Eridan?" You call out quietly. You didn't know what happened here and didn't want to give yourself away if there was anyone inside. Slowly you enter the hive taking everything in.
"Eridan?" You quietly call out again looking down the halls and in some of the rooms. You head upstairs and hear something.
It was coming from Eridans room.
You slowly walk down the hallway and carefully open his door. The room was worse than the whole house combined. Eridan sat on his bed in the middle of the mess holding onto a picture while crying. "Eridan!" You say in surprise and run over to him almost tripping on the sheets that were thrown to the floor. You set down the bag of Taco Bell on the floor and then sit next to Eridan. The picture he was holding was of the two of you on your first date and there as a sudden sinking feeling in your gut. "E-Eridan..." You ask nervously. "What's wrong Guppy...?" You throw in your cute pet name for him to try and make him happy.
Eridan turns to look at you with tears streaming down his pale gray cheeks. Oh god please don't let this be about you...
Eridan opens his mouth to say something and then collapses into your arms. "I'm so glad you're here ______...." He sods wrapping his arms around your waist. You gently stroke his hair as he crying into your chest. "I just... I feel like my life has fallin apart... I feel like I'm floatin to the surface... Like I'm goin belly up... " You pull away looking at him and wipe a tear from his face. "What do you mean Guppy?" "I mean I feel like a fish out of wwater... My friends, or the people I thought wwere my friends, don't actually like me... I'm not really good at anything and it seems as though no one really wwants me here." "Thats not true! Eridan! I love you! I want you here! Who cares if the others are stupid and don't see how amazing you are?!" Eridan stops and looks at you. "But I..." "But you nothing! You're an amazing guy and you shouldn't think so badly about yourself!"
"God I lovve you..." Eridan says sniffling. "You're the most amazing gill a guy could ask for..." He hugs you tighter as he says this. "Is there anyway I can help?" You ask him. "Just stay with me... Please ______.... You are my anchor... You keep this sea dweller swimmin." Eridan smiles at you with his puffy eyes. You smile back at him and hug him tightly.
"Hey Guppy, why don't we just lay down and talk?" Eridan smiles and nods at you. "That sounds great." As you lay back Eridan's stomach rumbles. "Oh! That's right!" You jolt up. "I brought Taco Bell!" Eridan jolts up too looking excited. "God I love you!" He smiles and you both sit on his bed eating Taco Bell just enjoying each others presence.
"Wait so what's with the mess everywhere?" You ask taking another bite of your taco. "Oh... Um... I kinda freaked out..." Eridan says. "It's ok," you say and pat Eridan on the head. Eridan smiles and you both go back to eating.
