A Mother`s love

I was planning to post this for Mother’s Day , but I couldn’t make it on time. This are two OC’s of mine, Alaric (future mate of Kion and Rani’s eldest daughter, Sarai) and his mom Freyja . Freyja’s stunning design is by the amazing @mantykukka !

Freyja is a female liger , child to a Siberian tigress and a rockclimber lion ( credits to @australet789 for the lion classifications and a big thank you for letting us use them) .

Unfortunately, not long after Scar’s assent to power, other lions with similar ideals started to gain courage of taking kingdoms for their own. One of the most important ones being Haakon, an Icechewer lion who formed a group of males with the sole purpose of doing away with this subspecies solitary ways, and form a patriarchal pride. Females were forced into submission and stripped of their rights. In the crossfire, Freyja ended up between these lionesses. This being 2-3 years after Simba retook the Pridelands.

Haakon , was no fool though. Freyja’s father was a lion of high influence and noble lineage, which meant that a mating to her would solidify his rule, not to mentions the strength of the genes that a mix between a Barbary lion and a Siberian tiger would entail for his heirs.

Freyja tried to resist for as long as possible, but it got to a point where there was no way out. So she agreed to be the mother of his heir on the condition that their first son would be hers. Hers to raise and care for. The tyrant , thinking little of it , agreed.

Freyja was and adolescent still when Haakon took her as his mate, yet he refused to wait. The king tried for 2 years without any success. Finally , on the third year of torture Freyja conceived. She gave birth to a beautiful son, strong and deemed the perfect heir among the pride. And while Haakon was kept away by his desire for other females and his empire Freyja raised Alaric by herself.

Which she was glad for. For she the ached her son not in the ways that wretched kingdom lived by, but in justice, respect and protection.

So Alaric grew up to be a beautiful soul, with unconditional love from his mother, despite the horrors of the situation. He did have to hide this part of himself from his father, since he expected someone to follow his own steps, and the last thing Alaric wanted to see was his mother being harmed, so he faked.

Never with his mother, though. Theirs was a little secret, when he was ready he’d overthrow his father or take them far away from there.
