In an AU taking place in the 36th century, the planets and moon of the Solar System are run by their own nation states under the High King of Earth, Usagi is told by her Mother Ikuko that Usagi has been invited to see her grandmother at the Lunarian Embassy. At the Embassy, her grandmother invites her to tea and during tea, she reveals that she’s Queen Serenity Selini of the Moon, and that Ikuko is Princess Isabella Selini of the Moon. Meaning that she, Usagi, is Princess Serena Maria Selini heir of the Lunarian Throne. This news shocks Usagi. She was never told any of this by her parents.
