Shiroi Krow

Critique please by Metadream

After akbarbisul posted a funny comment on another deviation I suddenly gained the idea to draw .. 'ME'! xD
This one took me around 6 hours. It was drawn after a photo which I myself took after a young jackdaw was sitting on our fence. :) I gave him a little hat too. Why? Because it's awesome!! :D
so enjoy this utterly random drawing of a white (shiroi) crow. ^^

It's a very nice piece, I absolutely love the coloring with the different shades of purple and blue. Because the snowflakes have different intensities some seem more to the front and others more to the back of the piece. This creates a lot of depth and gives the impression the bird is actually surrounded by them. And the he feathers are absolutely beautiful :happybounce: :happybounce: :happybounce:

If I may suggest two train of thoughts for new works in perhaps the same series:
1. If the bird would be placed in the lower left corner (1/3 of total) you get more space in the right top. It would emphasize the bird being underneath the big open sky.
2. The message of the painting would change slightly if the spectator would be looking in the same line as the bird. Looking over the right shoulder of the bird sort to speak. (looking at the bird versus looking with the bird)

Yes I'll keep that in mind! Thank you for the tips! :squee:
This drawing was based on a photo I took and I used it so I wouldn't make mistakes in proportions.  I wanted to create a card-like feel. A bit flat. :)
Again, thank you for your advice. :D

Awesome work. Sorry that i never finished that brush set. Looks like you would be able to work wonders with the full version. I do have a complete set of a older version.…
