Maybe I should clarify: I'm pretty much completely broke. If I can't make this month's rent on time I will literally end up in the streets and not be able to make any more art. Really, anything helps.

Ever since the middle ages, legends had been told of Vikings that found a distant land of savage beast-men and horrific monsters, monsters like spear-fanged cats and hairy, powerful giants with noses that could fell trees. For 500 years, these were widely regarded as entertaining fables.

In 1492, Christopher Columbus landed upon the Bahamas... finding empty islands untouched by Man, he and his crew restocked their ship and turned around with news of a pristine New World. Upon his third trip to the New World, however, he mysteriously disappeared. Meanwhile, John Cabot returned to Britain from the Canadian coast with tales of being haunted by a scourge of shouting devil-men from the shores.

It wasn't until 1511, however, that Hernann Cortez returned to Spain with captured devil-men.

-SIMS-

These wild simian humans, or Sims as they came to be known, were the indigenous people of the New World mainland. It's apparent at a glance that Sims are not quite like Men. Though they are of identical stature and height, a Sim is covered in thick hair and their heads seem apish; while their teeth are human in appearance, their brows are jutting ridges of bone and they lack foreheads. To hunt they would use clubs, or sharpen stones and throw them with deadly accuracy. They knew the importance of fire and used it well, but only knew how to maintain it once found rather than create it for themselves.

In spite of their wild nature, the utility of the Sims as laborers and servants was not lost on the Europeans that found them. It was soon discovered that Sims in captivity could be raised to be docile and obedient, even capable of understanding human speech, but physically incapable of speaking it themselves. Instead, they could be taught to be fluent in sign language. Sims are very fast learners, but unable to imagine or build upon what they know.

Sim-Human offspring are possible, but an extremely taboo topic that has always been the stuff of vile rumors.

Not as complete as I'd like probably but here's a redesign / elaboration on the backstory of   from earlier this CDC, that OC made out of parasitic fungus.

Elephants are already completely absurd creatures.  If you'd never seen or heard of one before and only had some guy's description to go by, you'd think he was lying.

Well, here's an even more absurd animal! This small critter is only about the size of a rabbit, and hops along on its huge and powerful trunk. Its tusks are now balancing organs, its lips are now dextrous grabbers, and its body and limbs are becoming vestigial. Somehow it being a tiny nocturnal desert scavenger just makes sense.

These slow, mammalian masters of camouflage are descended from fast, skittering rodents called "squirrels". Now, they are cold-blooded and move slowly and deliberately, relying on their highly specialized tails to either blend in seamlessly to their environment or ward off predators with large snake-like eyespots.

This creature is evolved from a raccoon in the absence of humans.
