The Ballad of Beaufort Asterius (DandD alt lyrics)
Original song "Over the Hills and Far Away" written by Gary Moore
Alternate lyrics written by Eu Tyto Alba for "Dungeons & Dragons" fun :D
* The character is Aasimar race, Ranger class, with Sage background; he only breaks League canon in the sense that he was once fully human, not born an Aasimar. (In the "Dungeons & Dragons" universe, an Aasimar is a mortal with some actual divinity in their genetic ancestry, such as an angel or a god; if they have a demon in their ancestry, they are called a Tiefling. Frankly, I think whole idea of transcendent/non-material genetics is stupid, so for my Aasimar, I came up with this workaround through backstory...)

In straight-jacket, he was bound.
He said there must be some mistake.
His research they had found.
They marched him out the collage gates.
They burned his cap and gown.
And as they led him through the streets,
Invited all to scorn.
"Can you believe this quackery!"
He heard reporters say.

Needless to say I haven't been following-through editing together the footage of my "Grey Wolf Cap" making-of video, like I was hard at work on just over a week ago......

Instead I've been writing condolence letters to a LOT of people. You know what they say----give a hug, get a hug. Sad

I missed so much good times with these guys while I was out of contact. Here's the thing, too---in all that time, I was no place good... just a solitary purgatory of my own creation....
Couldn't have DREAMED of a worse birthday........
I logged into my social media to answer friends' & familys' well-wishes, and learned that two of my best friends ever had both died. :iconcryforeverplz:

Blood Attacks by EuTytoAlba
Both these guys.
On separate, unrelated occasions.

The one on the left was a fellow student of jujutsu whom I studied with in the class shown, and he passed away LAST MAY at the age of 35 of causes which I have not yet learned about from his family. The man in black on the right was our learned sensei (and evidently a legitimate rock star for his real living, as I was slow to believe :o :o :o ) who passed away at the age of 47 of "congestive heart-failure" last Dec 21, leaving behind his wife, two teenage daughters and a grown son.

I hadn't spoken to either of them, or ANY of my old friends, in approximately four or five YEARS because I haven't gotten my life together even well enough just to cross town and hang-out, let alone buy my own darned coffee. I'm very much the sort of person who deals with problems by 'imploding' / isolating myself epic introvert style, and boy the past four or five years have been FULL of problems.......sigh

It is times like this when my grandmother's favorite poem throughout her life burns in my memory's ears like hot iron. But I don't see how I could truly have done any better given the circumstances. I believe that if I could have, I would have.........

Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end,
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone.

And I never see my old friend's face,
For life is a swift and terrible race,
He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell.

And he rang mine but we were younger then,
And now we are busy, tired men.
Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.

"Tomorrow" I say! "I will call on Jim
Just to show that I'm thinking of him",
But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows.

Around the corner, yet miles away,
"Here's a telegram sir," "Jim died today."
And that's what we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner, a vanished friend.

(Charles Hanson Towne)

Rest In Peace, Tim and Ryan aka "Blood" and "Maz".
May your places in Heaven resemble the beaches of Mexico, with a few empty hammocks reserved for when the rest of us all get there!! And then, we can open up that fabled floating pirate-ship dojo..... Man, you guys were only joking, but I always LOVED that crazy idea and genuinely would have taken you and the other students of SiJ up on it........ Pirate tard

A toast of rum te ye both!! :ahoy: rvmp :ahoy: rvmp

I'll try not to drown everyone at your memorial on Saturday, Sensei........

God, this is surreal.......... IMing: Cry

I just finished filming the making-of my Grey Wolf Cap papercraft based on "Bloodborne", and the hat came out even better than I expected!!! WAAY better, in fact!!!! :overthemoon:   Pictured below was WHAT I HAD  BELIEVED to be the half-way point, which was after about six hours of folding; I was VERY wrong; the second half of the hat took another 18 hours to finish, not merely another six as I had projected. And, due to the nature of my setup, I couldn't take breaks or even move from my spot, nor rest my hands at all. (Except for the one time my camera's memory filled up, which I made gud, guuud use of the one hour it lasted.... ^^;) I'll have to be more careful next time, but the trouble was that I had candles in the foreground to illustrate the pace at which time would be elapsing in my final video. As the hat waxes (if you'll pardon the pun :meow:) the candles wane....... There were actually two big events yesterday that I missed because instead of finishing by 6AM, having begun at midnight, I finished at 6PM. (And I considered finishing my first Making-Of video in YEARS to be an important personal achievement.... Snif..Is Beautiful..Onion) ....A Christmas party at my dad's office, and a Voltron Season 8 watch party that literally happened just down the hallway without me...... I can catch up on Voltron later, but they had "more food than people" at the office party, or so I hear, and they'd been serving tamales. Snif..Is Beautiful..Onion

Next step is post-processing/editing the footage........ All 159GB of it.......  :faint:

Grey Wolf Cap (Bloodborne Papercraft) 1/2 Finished by EuTytoAlba   Bloodborne Papercraft - Wearable Grey Wolf Cap by EuTytoAlba
O_______O  ....Omygosh......... Just 439 more profile views and I hit glorious, oh glorious 100K!! :omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg:

I suppose it is tradition to offer a Kiriban Special.......

I'd like to, but I don't feel very confident that I can ever finish things in a timely manner, even if logically a project is of a nature where anyone should be able to complete it quickly and with ease.... Well, I guess if someone lands that beautiful 100,000 benchmark and screencaps it and wants to collect----but doesn't mind a completely open & unpredictable timescale for its completion-----I might be persuaded. :D

Some simple rules off the top of my head:
:bulletred: I don't draw nudity or most 'romancy stuff', maybe just some softcore hand-holding or snuggling or whatever... (In a world completely out of its mind looking for hookups, I like to joke that I'm either what is [incorrectly] called "asexual", or actually what is called "sapiosexual" only I've just never encountered an eligible fella my own age who wasn't an idiot. ;) :giggle: )
:bulletred: Fight-scenes, however....... :evil-smile2: ....I am willing to draw gore, but I won't use reference images photographed from life. They're just too sad to bring down to the purposes of simple entertainment.... :saddestthingintheworld
:bulletgreen: I used to be good at drawing all kinds of wings, but I haven't tried in years.... So, wing artwork might be one strength of mine you could try to take advantage of.
:bulletgreen: Also, I personally think that I excel at drawing complicated backgrounds that give context to the character's actions; so, don't hold back describing a desired background!
:bulletgreen: I can also 3D-model stuff. ;) Extracting specific models from specific games is not always a guarantee, because I myself am not a programmer-master-hacker.... (Not yet, anyway.... :evil-smile2: ) I've also never tried to 3D-model any people or animals----only weapons and objects, but, hay, I gotta learn sometime! :)
:bulletred: Neat, clean line-art is NOT one of my strong points.... Ashamed  However, I am somewhat adept at using the vector-graphic software, Inkscape. Just try your luck.... ^^;
Haven't been active on DA in months..... I actually was more active on Thingiverse for a while while I learned my way around 3D-printers.... I'm working on two things right now, sporadically, that are going to be lots of fun when they're finished. I extracted the 3D-model of the "techno" goggles from "Bloodborne", and I'm manually refining that model to be 3D-printed in PLA plastic; it would be very brittle around the nose-piece if I didn't add some hidden hinges there so the goggles can fold-up without snapping in half.... Another thing, which will be a lot simpler to design and to print, (and probably something that FromSoftware themselves should have thought of as cheap promotional merchandise waaaay back when), is a necklace made from the life-size teeth taken from the extracted 3D-model of Bloodborne's Scourge Beast!!! :omgomg: Because I just wanted the Scourge Beast's werewolf teeth on a necklace. angry crying laughing murder emoji  ...That is all. :monocle:

(BELOW: Canine dental reference intended for veterinary students that I'm using to 3D-model accurate roots on the Scourge Beast's teeth. Follow the link, not merely the model preview. But the preview sure is cool!! :lovesquee: )

Hey EuTytoAlba,

I saw your Artorias 3D model where you had all the items seperated. Is it possible to get that 3D file for my cosplay?

You want what I had done so far? Because, the pieces may be separated, and good references to look at, but this file was still

a long way from being a working papercraft.....

Alright, I found it. :D

I was working on it in a freeware studio called kHED.
Is it alright if just send the model in kHED's native format, and a copy of the studio if you [most likely] don't already have it?

kHED can export to OBJ, which all other 3D studios can read. I just don't want to go to the trouble of doing that myself right now.....

Hey there - I am not looking for the papercraft since I am doing all from foam and I enjoy the process of "creating" the templates/armor myself alot :D

Main issue is that e.g. the cloak is blocking a huge amount of the armor (details - backarmor) and the model would help with that :)
