Its a good iDea Indeed!
On first glance it looks good and fooled me to think it was a mag cover. On closer look it became more obvious and the intention is easily recognisable. Considering the other comments, there is a clash in the typography and the semiotics of the design. It looks like a professional production of a kids club newsletter. The message doesn't say 'I'm a professional and skilled and ready for business'.

@ocallaghantj, Also not trying to be mean, but perhaps Googling "correct grammar" would prevent YOU from appearing to be 5 years old. Lesson 1: "Your" vs "You're". Next up: Punctuation and capitalization.
LOL Cupquakes, perhaps YOU should take the grammar lesson. Your is possessive, you're is You are. He was clearly right and now you look 5.
nice try, but i'm not trying to be mean, if you want to reach outside the box, pleas google the font's you want to use, to see what you are communicating in there use. like your mast head, is in papyrus, communicates that your 5 years old. the photo is not bad, but the only thing in any kind of focus is the eraser, what are you trying to communicate. If you want to work for a rag you might want to read up on layout books,

I love this! Looks great and a good idea! The only thing that I don't like is the title, whether or not it's the font it's self, or just the far off dropshadow and glow, I think if you took those off it would help it pop more, but I still really like this!

Well I am not a typography guy and know not much about it, but the picture of the pencils look great and neat.

Great work. Good to see a fellow Terp out there! Seems like this is a couple years old, but still super cool. Hope everything worked out.
No offense, but the typography is horrible. :-/

Its a writer you are talking to. Not a graphic artist

What comments can be written, its out of words and mind blowing!!!

If i was suppose to shortlist the resumes I would have given preference to this.
