Decided to do a new Prop for myself.
Always wanted the black cap from Zefram Cochrane which he wore in Star Trek First Contact (and was also seen in Star Trek Lower Decks in the Bozeman Amusement Park).
The construction itself wasn't particularly difficult and was a one-day build. It was more difficult to find a black cappie that was closed all around. The majority of baseball caps have a size adjustment at the back, which unfortunately was not desired for the prop. The matching cap was more of a chance find in a hardware store.
As usual for me, the structures were cheap leftover from previous craft projects. The two leather strips around the cap come from an old leather belt that I cut in half and then cut to length. The decorations on the strips are a combination of washers and rivets that were glued on. The decorations on the top strip are plastic squares cut out of PVC craft sheets. In the end I decided against weathering the cap, that will probably come naturally over time
