Warp 3 Full Speed by Euderion Warp 3 Full Speed by Euderion
NV class Intrepid on Full Warp Speed... Warp 3.
In my opinion one of the best design of the Enterprise series. Although all spaceships actually looked too progressive. I missed the ball spaceships. But okay, Enterprise had not irrelevant to struggle with continuity.

This looks great.
I really liked the Intrepid spacecraft there were more than 1 on screen at one time weren't there?
Though I don't think we ever got to see one at warp.

The Enterprise series stuff (ships and interiors) did look too progressive, but it did look right for when it was produced. One explanation I've read is that everything looks cool and fancy in Enterprise because it's their first Warp 5 ship and they're off exploring and it's all bespoke. But between Enterprise and TOS the Romunlan War happens and that bespoke aesthetic gives to practicality, easy to build and cheap quality parts, which is why the Constitution class is more advanced than the NX01 (as seen In a Mirror Darkly) though still chunky and 60s-esque.

If that's Archer's Enterprise she tops out at Warp 5 not 3, it was actually a standout point in the series because Archer's father is credited with creating the warp 5 engine.

No, its not the Enterprise. Its the Intrepid, a smaller ship. It was built several years before the enterprise, and is only capable of Warp 3 or 3.5 in emergency.

I agree the Daedalus class should of have appeared in the series as an older design but heavily in use and in my view the Neptune/Intrepid (design above) should have represented Enterprise herself rather than the Akiraprise design that was chosen.

A great render here, I always wondered what speed she was capable of, perhaps Warp 3? I wonder if the Republic that Captain Erika Hernandez formerly served on was of this class.

Having read the book 'Starfleet: Year One' it was really odd to watch Enterprise. Not only was there yet another ship named enterprise, but the purely human ships looked just like the multi-race federation ones from the other series. Would the Vulcan and Andorian ships really abandon their more advanced design philosophies completely when the Federation was formed? Picky, but it got to me slightly.
