Rest in Peace - Rene Auberjonois

"All my life, i've been forced to pass myself as one of you - always wondering who i really am."

Does this image as tribute for Rene Auberjonois after i heard his passing.

It is been a tough time for Star Trek fans. After the loss of Star Trek actors like Aron Eisenberg and Robert Walker or writer DC Fontana, we mourn the loss of Rene Auberjonois, better known for his role as Odo in Star Trek Deep Space Nine. He passed away this weekend at the age of 79 after battle with lung cancer. Rest in Peace Rene!

He played the shape-shifter Changeling Odo in "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" and carried that role into video games, voicing Odo in "Harbinger" and "The Fallen." He also played the role of Colonel West in "Star Trek 6 - The undiscovered Country".
His appearance as Judge Mantz in ABC's "The Practice" earned him another Emmy nod for guest actor in a drama in 2001.

His guest roles were numerous on classics like "Murder, She Wrote," "The Jeffersons," "The Outer Limits," "L.A. Law," "Stargate SG-1," "Frasier", "Enterprise" and the more recent hit "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."

His first film role came with "M*A*S*H," in which he played Father Mulcahy in the first of several collaborations with Robert Altman.

He was remembered on social media by his "Deep Space Nine" co-star Armin Shimerman, who played Quark.

"His last message to me was entitled 'Don't forget...' I know that I, Killy and all that knew him will never forget. The world seems noticeably emptier now. I loved him."

more fitting a send off then anything modern trek could offer.

Yeah, I head about it last year, sad to see he passed away. But I did get to meet the guy and got his autograph at one of those comic con in the UK some years before that.

He came into my job in earlier 2019. Such a cool guy. Him and his friends bought popcorn.

Wonderful tribute. Clap

Will be greatly missed. His squabbles and spiteful exchanges with Quark are priceless moments of unadulterated comical joy.

This one really broke my heart. I’ve been a fan of his since seeing him in the MASH movie when I was a kid. RIP, Rene.

I see you took the quote from the series premiere, The Emissary. Ironic, it was just on yesterday. He is a great actor.

He was also a voice actor too.
I don't want to be disrespectful, but I though that was Grand Moff Tarkin before I read the title. :/

No not Grand Moff Tarkin but he really should have played the role in rogue one

I actually had a chance to meet Rene at a Comic Con near my town years ago, but I stupidly didn’t go and take that chance to see him as Rene look like an angry guy to me at the time that day years ago and I thought he might’ve yelled at me and I would never see Odo the same again as I had a bad experience with Peter Mayhew before that and Peter yelled at me when I went to go talk to him and I had no idea what I did to get Peter so angry at me.

I had see Rene playing with his phone and he looked angry while staring at it and I thought I make him angry if I went over, so I didn’t go.

Now that he is gone I kinda wished I went over to talk to him instead of being scared that Rene might yell at me as he looked kinda angry that day I saw him at Comic Con years ago.

He may sometimes looked or acted grumpy, but Rene was a very kind and gently man. I had the pleasure to meet him twice on convention and he was always a funny man with a big heart.

May he live long and prosper in the after life if there is one.
