Raloi Cruiser Concept The Phoenix

First Concept for a Raloi Cruiser, 30 years after the Reaper War. Since there is basically no canon content about Raloi Tech I was able to let off some steam. Lots of influence from other Scifi Shows such as Star Trek or Foundation, but also some small Turian design components. The Ari'kana should be the flagship of the small Raloi fleet in 2116.

The Raloi are a relatively young species who had in 2184 not yet developed their own space travel when they first made contact with the Asari. They are at an industrial level compared to Earth of the mid-20th century.

The Asari invited the Raloi into the galactic community, but when the Reaper War broke out, they retreated to their home planet and destroyed any advanced technology in the hope that the Reapers would overlook them as an underdeveloped civilization. A hope that was not to be fulfilled, as the Reapers, through their control of the Citadel, had knowledge of the Raloi and attacked Turvess.

Eleven years later in 2197, the SSV Sagan arrived at Turvess on a mission to repair the mass relay network. The Sagan was a joint project of humans, asari, turians and quarians and was tasked with repairing the physical damage of the Reaper War. Although not directly on the Sagan's path, Captain O'Dell decided to make a detour and officially invite the Raloi back into the galactic community.

A number of inhabitants of Turvess joined the Sagans Mission.

In order to catch up technologically, they, like the Volus, temporarily opted for client status with the Turians. They pay taxes for military protection and exchange of technology and trade goods. It was a good deal for the Turians, as they could put the money into reconstruction while passing on knowledge they already possessed.

It would be another twenty years before they set up their own respectable space fleet and became a master on their own. In 2216 they even joined the Citadel defense fleet with one of their newest cruisers, the "Ari'kana", roughly translated the "Phoenix".
